| With the improvement of the quality of life of residents, health problems have become increasingly prominent.Health is the basis for all human activities. The harmony and happiness of the family are based on the health of each family member, and the development and rejuvenation of the country is based on the health of each micro family. In the course of our country’s development, the people’s health status has always been highly concerned by the national government. As an indispensable part of my country’s social security system, the medical security system plays an extremely important role in protecting residents’ health risks and promoting residents’ living consumption. As of 2020,my country has a relatively complete medical security system. However, the health risks faced by Chinese residents are increasing. The basic medical insurance supported by the government is becoming more and more difficult to meet residents’ health security needs. The ability of residents to resist health risks is also in response to the call of the Healthy China policy. We must accelerate the development of commercial medical insurance to optimize the multi-level social health service system.Although commercial medical insurance has huge market potential, due to the short development time of commercial medical insurance in my country, for the time being, the number of insurance participants is small and the overall scale is still small, which cannot effectively share the expenditure pressure of my country’s medical funds. There is still a certain gap compared with developed countries. Therefore, how to stimulate the market demand for commercial medical insurance, promote the rapid development of my country’s commercial medical insurance, and reduce the pressure on basic medical insurance is a problem that needs to be solved urgently.Starting from the factors forming health risks, this article uses a combination of theory and empirical research methods to explore the impact of health risks on the demand for commercial medical insurance from the perspectives of external environmental factors and individual health awareness. On the basis of the existing literature, this article first starts from the external environmental factors of health risks, taking the SARS epidemic in 2003 as an example, constructing a DID model with birth cohort to test the impact of major public health emergencies on the demand for commercial medical insurance Whether it has a long-term effect, based on the empirical results,we will further explore the impact of individuals’ own health awareness on the demand for commercial medical insurance when all individuals are exposed to the same risk environment.Through the analysis of the empirical results,it is concluded that SARS,as an external environmental factor affecting health risks, has no long-term effect on consumer demand for commercial medical insurance;individual health awareness,as an internal factor of health risks, significantly affects residents’ perception of commercial medical insurance.demand.Finally,through the analysis of the empirical results, this article puts forward relevant suggestions from the three levels of individual, market, and country, and provides a new idea for stimulating commercial medical insurance market demand from the perspective of residents’ health awareness. |
