| Objective: Liver failure(LF)is a common clinical syndrome of severe liver disease, with extremely high mortality and poor prognosis. This article discusses the definition, pathogenesis, classification and stage, diagnosis, treatment of liver failure,as well as the relationship between liver failure and infection and coagulation dysfunction to deepen the understanding of liver failure by analyzing the case of liver failure complicated with infection and coagulation dysfunction, which to improve the diagnosis and treatment level of liver failure.Method: This report retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of a typical patient with liver failure complicated with infection and coagulation dysfunction, combined with literature reports at home and abroad, discussing the definition, pathogenesis, classification and stage, diagnosis, treatment of liver failure,as well as the relationship between liver failure and infection and coagulation dysfunction. Results: The patient with hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis for many years, mainly manifested as lower extremity edema with abdominal distension. And symptoms of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis such as fever and abdominal pain occurred 1 day before admission. After comprehensive treatment such anti-infection,liver protection, symptomatic support treatment, the symptoms improved for a while. However, due to the extremely poor liver function, blood stream infection and recurrent abdominal infection, the coagulation dysfunction was further worsened, and the patient eventually died. Conclusion: On the basis of the original liver disease, liver failure induced by infection progresses rapidly, and the existence of infection makes the treatment of liver failure more urgent and difficult.Strong anti-infection treatment, early recognition and prevention of complications of liver failure can improve the survival rate of patients and prognosis. |
