Objective1.To summarize Professor CHEN Bolai’s experience in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH)by using Chinese Medicine,in order to comprehend the rule of Medication.2.To evaluate the effect and safety of Jianyao Tongluo Decoction in treatment of lumbar disc herniation with cold-dampness obstruction syndrome,in order to explore safe, effective and feasible clinical treatment methods, and to provide new ideas for the treatment of lumbar degenerative disease.Methods1.Collected professor Chen’ s outpatient prescription in the treatment of LDH by only Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).Conducted descriptive analysis and complex cluster analysis through SPSS Statistics 22.0,and performed association rule analysis by the Apriori algorithm in SPSS Modeler 14.1.2.A prospective controlled study was used in this study.Patients with lumbar disc herniation with cold-dampness obstruction syndrome were included and divided into treatment group and control group. The treatment group was given Jianyao Tongluo Decoction and the control group was given etoricoxib tablets combined with mecobalamin tablets. Both groups were given acupuncture and infrared ray basic treatment.Main evaluation indicators:Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)symptom rating scale, efficacy evaluation based on the reduction rate of the scale points;secondary evaluation indicators:VAS score,JOA score and ODI score;evaluations were performed at three observation points:pre-treatment,2 weeks and 4 weeks after treatment, and occurrence of adverse reactions during the trial were recorded for safety evaluation. The data was entered and managed by two people using Excel software, and descriptive analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0 software.Chi-square test was chosen for counting data. All measurement data were firstly test for normality.T-test was for the fits one while rank sum test was for the no-fits one and rank data.Repeated measurement analysis of variance was for the TCM symptom rating scale,VAS score,JOA score, and ODI score.Take the test level α=0.05,P>0.05 means that the difference is not statistically significant,P<0.05 means that the difference is statistically significant, and P<0.01 means that the difference has significant statistical significance.Results1.Total 112 prescriptions and 76 herbs frequency of usage were included in statistical analysis. It was found that 16 kinds of herbs were used more frequently, including Niu xi、Bai shao、Fu ling、Chuan xiong etc.The commonly used TCM herbs matching were Dang gui-Bai shao、Du zhong-Niu xi、Bai shao-Chuan xiong etc.2.Baseline comparison:There were no statistically significant differences in baseline data between the two groups in terms of gender, age distribution, course of disease,TCM syndrome score,VAS score,JOA score, and ODI score before treatment and they were good to comparability.3.Efficacy comparison:At the last follow up,there were 2 recovered cases,8 markedly effective cases,17 effective cases, and 2 ineffective cases in the treatment group. The total effective rate was 93.10%.There were no cured cases in the control group,9 markedly effective cases,16 effective cases, and 3 ineffective cases. The total effective rate was 89.29%,and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).4.Other evaluation indicators:At 2 weeks and 4 weeks after treatment, both two groups were significantly improved in terms of TCM symptoms score,VAS score,JOA score,ODI score compared with that before treatment(P<0.01),and there was no significant difference between the groups(P>0.05);At 4 weeks after treatment, the treatment group was better than the control group in improving TCM symptoms such as lower limb paralysis, limb numbness, and cold soreness, compared between groups, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).5.Safety comparison:During the trial,no significant adverse reactions were seen in either patient.Conclusions1.Through data mining methods, the common prescriptions of Professor Chen Bolai for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation are mulberry parasite,Duhuo,Chuanxiong,Achyranthes bidentata, white peony root, whole scorpion,Guizhi,Pori a.Fang Jianyao Tongluo Fang’s experience of addition and subtraction is reduced2.Jianyao Tongluo Decoction has obvious clinical effect on cold-dampness obstruction syndrome lumbar disc herniation and it is equivalent to etoricoxib tablets combined with mecobalamin tablets in terms of pain relief, clinical symptoms and so on.3.Jianyao Tongluo Decoction was better than the etoricoxib tablets combined with mecobalamin tablets in improving TCM symptoms such as lower limb paralysis, limb numbness, and cold soreness.4.Jianyao Tongluo Decoction has no clinical adverse reactions in treating cold-dampness obstruction syndrome lumbar disc herniation with high safety, which deserves further promotion and application.
