Objective: Discuss the effect of long work hours of young working groups on subthreshold depression, and verify whether health behaviors play an intermediary role between long work hours and subthreshold depression.Based on the research results, reasonable suggestions are proposed to provide effective methods for the prevention and control of subthreshold depression of young working groups. Methods: A simple random sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on the youth working group through the online questionnaire. The questionnaire included the basic situation questionnaire, the health promotion behavior questionnaire(HPLP-C),and the Self-Assessment Scale for Depression(CES-D).Multi-factor and single-factor analysis of variance were used to conduct descriptive analysis and difference analysis of variables, and to investigate the current status of the young working group’s long working hours, healthy behaviors and subthreshold depression.Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the correlation between variables, and hierarchical regression analysis was used to explore the effects of overtime work and healthy behaviors on subthreshold depression,as well as the effects of overtime work on health behaviors. The structural equation model was used to verify the mediation effect of health behaviors. Conclusions:A total of 1100 questionnaires were distributed, and 1017 valid questionnaires, with an effective rate of 95.58%.Collect the general demographic data of the subjects including gender, age, type of work unit, occupation, education level, marital status, etc.Among them,396 men(38.94%)and 621 women(61.06%).The minimum working hours among the subjects is 30 h,the maximum working hours is 90 h,the average is 53.057 h,the standard deviation is 12.342 h,and the median is 48 h.The incidence of overtime work is 78.66%.The type of enterprise, salary satisfaction, education level, and marital status have significant differences in the relationship between long work hours(P <0.05).The incidence of subthreshold depression was higher among the youth group, with a total of 336(33.04%)in the subthreshold depression group and a total of 681(66.94%)in the normal group.Overtime work will have a significant negative impact on healthy behaviors and a positive impact on subthreshold depression.Healthy behaviors have a significant negative impact on subthreshold depression levels.Health behaviors play a part of the intermediary role between long work hours and subthreshold depression.Improving the level of health behaviors of young working groups can buffer the impact of long work hours on subthreshold depression to a certain extent.
