Objective: This research project is to correct,analyze and evaluate its stability,and then be compared to the traditional treatment methods in this area-combination.To help orthodontists designing an effective and reasonable treatment plan.Methods: The MARPE group(MARPE group)selected a total of 10 patients who have underwent rapid arch expansion assisted by microimplants,including 6 males and4 females,with an average age of 18.3 years.CBCT was used to measure 19 dental or skeletal indexes before(T0),after the expansion(T1)and after the expander is removed,the upper dental arch uses 19×25 nickel-titanium square wire(T2).Software SPSS 22.0is to perform paired sample t test on the data.In the RPE group(RPE group),10 patients were selected for traditional spiral expander expansion,including 5 males and 5 females,with an average age of 17.5 years.Using the recorded casts to collect data related to the maxillary dental and bony width phase and molar inclination corresponding to the MARPE group and the RPE group,and the group of MARPE and RPE were analyzed before(T0),after the expansion of the arch(T1),and at the period when the expander removed,the upper jaw used 19×25 nickel-titanium square wire(T2).The changes of various indexes of patients in each group were compared between groups.Both the MARPE group and the RPE group were treated with metal self-ligating brackets during the fixed treatment stage,and the maxillary dental arch has reached a stable arch shape when the expander was removed,the upper dental arch used 19×25 nickel-titanium square wire.Analyzing the changes in the width of the dental arch,the oblique movement of the teeth and the alveolar process,and the long-term stability of the expansion effect in the three periods before,after the expansion and the upper dental arch used 19×25 nickel-titanium square wire.Software SPSS 22.0 was used to perform independent sample t test on the data.Result:The internal control experimental data of the MARPE group showed that seven items of data before and after the expansion had P less than 0.05,which is of statistical significance.They are:Changes in maxillary dentin and bony width,Changes in the maxillary first molar inclination,Changes in the height and thickness of the buccal alveolar bone of the maxillary first molar,Changes in mandibular dentin and bony width.Sagittal and vertical changes of the upper and lower jaws collected after arch expansion has a p value greater than 0.05,which is not statistically significant.The data collected before and after treatment showed no statistical significance.In the analysis of the relevant data of the second and third phases,it is found that almost all the experimental data have a p value greater than 0.05,which is not statistically significant.Changes in maxillary dentin and bony width,The change of the inclination of the first molar,The height and thickness of the buccal alveolar bone of the first molar,Sagittal and vertical changes of the upper and lower jaws,Changes in the dentin and bony width of the mandibular arch.A controlled experiment was conducted on MARPE group and RPE group.After expansion,the p values of 4 indicators were all less than 0.05,which was statistically significant,including:Changes in maxillary dentin width,The width between the alveolar bones of the first molars on both sides,The angle between the occlusal planes of the first molars on both sides,The difference in the width of the middle palate of the first molars on both sides.When the 19×25 nickel-titanium square wire is used for the upper jaw after the expander is removed,the three data indicators of "maxillary dentition width,width between the alveolar bones of the left and right first molars,and changes in the width of the middle palate of the first molars" are all in the statistics.There is research significance in terms of science,indicating that the effect of MARPE is more stable than RPE in the fixed correction stage of the maxillary.Conclusion:Experimental data shows that,compared with traditional treatment methods,MARPE has more advantages in the treatment of maxillary underdevelopment in the transverse direction.It can significantly expand the palatal suture,and the bone plates on both sides of the palate will extend horizontally.After the expansion,the molars will tilt at a small angle towards the cheek,and there are few adverse reactions.At the stage of fixed correction after the MARPE expander is removed,the therapeutic effect of the expansion is stable when upper dental arch has used 19 × 25nickel-titanium square wire,and there is basically no recurrence.This is a clear advantage over traditional treatment methods.At the same time,experimental datas also show that the metal self-ligating appliance did not destroy the results of arch expansion,but maintained the stability of the arch width.MARPE is mainly the expansion of the palatal seam,which has little side effects on teeth and alveolar bone.When MARPE expansion is stopped and the maxillary 19×25 nickel-titanium square wire is used after MARPE removed,the width of the mandibular arch did ont increase significantly.Therefore,it means that relying solely on MARPE and fixed orthodontics cannot solve the problem of insufficient mandibular width.
