Objective:To understand the current status of social resource utilization,patient activation and patient involvement in medication safety behavior of hypertensive patients;to analyze the relationship between social resource utilization,patient activation and patient involvement in medication safety behavior;to identify the impact of social resource utilization and patient activation on patient involvement in medication safety behavior,in order to provide information for promoting the involvement of hypertensive patients in medication safety behavior.Methods: This was a cross-sectional study involving 295 hypertensive patients who were selected by convenient sampling method from a grade-A tertiary hospital in Hubei province.The assement scales were the general demographic data,chinese version of chronic illness resource survey,patient activation measurement and inpatients involvement in medication safety behavior scale.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS26.0.To present descriptive information on the sample,the mean,the percentage,the standard deviation,the T-test,the one-way ANOVA,the Pearson correlation analysis and the multivariate linear regression analysis were adopted.Besides the statistical significance was sonsidered at P<0.05.Results:(1)The total score of social resource utilization was(3.48±0.40),differences in gender,age,education,marital status,family monthly income per capita,insurance status,and number of combined chronic diseases were statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)The total score of patient activation was(57.62±9.24),which belonged to the third level of patient activation.The number of cases with activation levels1-4 were: 55(18.6%),61(20.7%),155(52.5%),and 24(8.1%).differences in age,education,family monthly income per capita,hypertension grades,and number of combined chronic diseases were statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)The total score of patient involvement in medication safety behavior was(82.17±10.14),differences in gender,age,residence,education,marital status,family monthly income per capita,insurance status,hypertension grades,duration of disease,duration of medication,number of combined chronic diseases,and medical background were statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)The social resource utilization was positively correlated with patient involvement in medication safety behavior(r=0.702,P<0.01);patient activation was positively correlated with patient involvement in medication safety behavior(r=0.768,P<0.01);and social resource utilization also was positively correlated with patient activation(r=0.567,P<0.01).(5)Gender,education,marital status,duration of disease,social resource utilization and patient activation were influcing factors of patient involvement in medication safety behavior,and 77.2% of the variance of patient involvement in medication safety behavior can be explained.Conclusion:(1)The social resource utilization is generally ideal.Female,younger than 60 years old,educated in higher school or above,married,family monthly income per capita is3000 yuan and above,using urban employee basic medical insurance,number of combined chronic diseases less than 3 has a better utilization of social resource.(2)The patient activation is at level 3,which means the patients have taken action to keep healthy,but lack confidence and skills to maintain this action.Furthermore,younger than 60 years old,educated in college degree or above,family monthly income per capita is 5000 yuan and above,grade 2 hypertension,number of combined chronic diseases less than 3 has higher patient activation.(3)Patient involvement in medication safety behavior needes to be strengthened.And female,younger than 60 years old,living in town,educated in college degree or above,married,family monthly income per capita is 3000 yuan and above,using urban employee basic medical insurance,grade 2 hypertension,duration of disease is less than5 years,duration of medication less 10 years,number of combined chronic diseases less than 3,has a medical background could involve in medication safety better.(4)The better utilization of social resource and the higher level of patient activation,the better behavior of hypertensive patients involving in medication safety.(5)Gender,education,marital status,duration of disease,social resource utilization,and patient activation are the influencing factors of patient involvement in medication safety behavior,among them the patient activation has the greatest influence.
