| Objective: This study aims to observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Buzhong Yichang Decoction combined with conventional Western medicine chemotherapy in the treatment of patients with advanced colorectal cancer,and the effection of this treatment on the levels of tumor markers CEA and CA199,peripheral blood picture(WBC,RBC,PLT,Hb),TCM syndrome score,and quality of life score.Methods: A total of 64 patients with advanced colorectal cancer who met the inclusion criteria were collected and randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine chemotherapy,then the treatment group was treated with Buzhong Yichang Decoction on the basis of the treatment plan of the control group.One course of treatment for 21 consecutive days per month,after 3 courses of treatment,observed the curative effect,safety and the changes of serum tumor markers CEA、CA199、 peripheral blood WBC、RBC、PLT、Hb、 TCM symptom score and quality of life score of the patients in the control group and the treatment group.Results:(1)Comparison of recent efficacy: The objective remission rate of the treatment group was 16.66%,the disease control rate was 76.66%,the objective remission rate of the control group was 13.33%,and the disease control rate was 63.33%.There was no difference in the recent efficacy between the two groups(P>0.05).(2)Changes of serum tumor markers: There was no difference in the level of tumor markers(CEA、CA199)between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The level of tumor markers(CEA、CA199)in both groups decreased significantly after treatment(P<0.05).The level of tumor markers(CEA、CA199)in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).(3)Changes in peripheral blood indicators: Before treatment,there was no difference in the levels of peripheral blood(WBC,RBC,PLT,Hb)between the two groups(P>0.05),the peripheral blood(WBC,RBC,PLT,Hb)levels were significantly improved after treatment(P<0.05).The levels of peripheral blood(WBC,RBC,PLT,Hb)in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).(4)Changes of TCM symptom scores: Before treatment,there was no difference between the two groups(fatigue,dizziness,repeated blood stool,anus removal,loose stools)and total integral level(P>0.05).After treatment,the TCM symptom score(fatigue,dizziness,repeated blood,anus removal,loose stools)and total integral level of the control group were significantly improved(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the pale complexion and pale lip color score were not improved(P>0.05).All TCM symptome scores(fatigue,pale complexion,dizziness,pale lip color,repeated blood,anus removal,loose stools)and total integral level of the patients in the treatment group were significantly improved(P>0.05).All TCM symptom scores(fatigue,pale complexion,dizziness,pale lips,repeated blood,anus removal,loose stools)and total integral levels of the patients in the treatment group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).(5)Changes of quality of life score: There was no significant difference in quality of life score(KPS score)between the two groups before treatment,but after treatment,the quality of life score was significantly improved in both groups(P < 0.05).The quality of life score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P < 0.05).(6)Safety: During the treatment,1 case of 4 degree bone marrow suppression appeared in the treatment group,and 2 cases of 4 degree bone marrow suppression in the control group were considered to be caused by chemotherapeutic drugs.Conclusion:(1)Compared with conventional chemotherapy,Buzhong Yichang Decoction combined with conventional chemotherapy has no advantage in improving the curative effect of advanced colorectal cancer.(2)Compared with conventional chemotherapy,Buzhong Yichang Decoction combined with conventional chemotherapy has advantages in reducing the CEA 、 CA199 level of serum tumor markers and increasing the WBC、RBC、PLT、Hb level.(3)Compared with conventional chemotherapy,Buzhong Yichang Decoction combined with conventional chemotherapy is more effective in improving TCM symptoms and improving quality of life.(4)Buzhong Yichang decoction combined with western medicine routine chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer patients have better safety. |
