| Objective: To observe and compare the changes of swallowing function and quality of life in patients with post-stroke dysphagia rehabilitated by Mendelsohn maneuver combined with motor imagination therapy. To compare the rehabilitation effect of Mendelsohn maneuver alone and Mendelsohn maneuver combined with motor imagination therapy in patients with post-stroke dysphagia. Methods: We enrolled 60 patients with post-stroke dysphagia who were admitted to the Rehabilitation Department of Ruikang Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January to October 2020 and met the inclusion criteria. The subjects were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was given regular rehabilitation therapy and Mendelsohn maneuver, while the intervention group was given motor imagination therapy in addition to the treatments on the control group. After 4-week intervention, the water swallowing test,SSA scale and the SWAL-QOL scale were used to evaluate the intervention effect.SPSS20.0software was used for statistical analysis.Data analysis methods mainly included statistical description,chi-square test,non-parametric Wilcoxon rank sum test, repeated measurement analysis of variance,t-test of two independent samples, and multiple comparison of LSD.Results: During the intervention,7 cases were lost to follow-up and 53 cases were enrolled for analysis, including 26 cases in the intervention group and 27 cases in the control group.(1)the categorical distribution of water swallow test: there was no statistical difference in the categorical distribution of water swallowing test between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05);After 2 weeks of intervention and 4 weeks of intervention, there were statistically significant differences in the water swallowing test classes between the two groups(P<0.05).(2)Comparison of total scores of the SSA scale: the total SSA scores in both groups showed an statistically significant upward trend(P<0.05);significant interaction effect between time and intervention methods indicated a significant different therapeutic effects on the total SSA score between two groups(P<0.05).It can be considered that the rehabilitation effect of swallowing function in the two groups is different in different time and different groups, and the rehabilitation effect of the intervention group is better than that of the control group.(3)Comparison of Total score of SWAL-QOL scale: The total score of SWAL-QOL scale showed an statistically significant upward trend(P<0.05),significant interaction effect between time and intervention methods indicated a significant different therapeutic effects on the total SWAL-QOL score between two groups(P<0.05).It can be considered that the improvement degree of the quality of life of patients in different time and different groups is different, and the effect of the intervention group is better than that of the control group. Conclusion: Motor imagination therapy combined with Mendelsohn maneuver can better improve the swallowing function of post-stroke patients, improve their quality of life, worthy of clinical promotion and application. |
