Clinical Effect Observation Of Tiao Gan Xi Feng Acupuncture Combined With Wrist-ankle Acupuncture In The Treatment Of Children With Tourette Syndrome

Objective:Investigate the clinical effect of Tiao Gan Xi Feng Acupuncture combined with Wrist-ankle acupuncture in the treatment of children with Tourette syndrome.Methods:63 children diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome who were treated in Acupuncture and Rehabilitation department and Pediatrics department of Jiangsu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to March 2021 were selected and randomly divided into three groups,21 cases in each one.All children were treated with Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention Treatment(CBIT)as the conventional treatment.Additionally,Tiao Gan Xi Feng Acupuncture combined with Wrist-ankle acupuncture was applied to the treatment group 1 while the treatment group 2 was only treated with CBIT and Tiao Gan Xi Feng Acupuncture.The treatment group 3 only received the conventional treatment combined with Wrist-ankle acupuncture.All patients were treated once every other day,three times a week,one course of treatment per month,and a total of one course of treatment.The scores of Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS)were observed before and after the treatment.Statistical methods were used to analyze the data and evaluate the clinical efficacy of Tiao Gan Xi Feng acupuncture combined with Wrist-ankle acupuncture in the treatment of Tourette syndrome.Results:There were 61 children finally included,20 in the treatment group 1,20 in the treatment group 2,and 21 in the treatment group 3.The total score of YGTSS scale,the total motor tic score,the total vocal tic score and the global damage scale score in the three groups were all decreased after treatment(P<0.01).Compared with the other two groups,the improvement in the total score of YGTSS scale in the treatment group 1 were better(P<0.05).The improvement of motor tic score in treatment group 2 was better than that in treatment group 3,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The therapeutic effect of the treatment group 3 was better than that of the treatment group 2 in improving the global damage scale score,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group 1 was 95%,group 2 was 75%,and group 3 was 90.5%.Conclusion:1.Tiao Gan Xi Feng acupuncture combined with Wrist-ankle acupuncture can play a therapeutic role in TS,with more obvious effective than Tiao Gan Xi Feng acupuncture and Wrist-ankle acupuncture.2.The therapeutic effect of Tiao Gan Xi Feng proves better than Wrist-ankle acupuncture in improving total motor tic score.3.Wrist-ankle acupuncture is more effective in improving the overall damage scale score than Tiao Gan Xi Feng acupuncture.
