Research On The Present Situation Of Rural Elderly Seeking Medical Treatment In Wuling Area

The report to the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed the healthy China strategy.Under the trend of global aging,the health problem of the elderly has become a key concern in the strategy.At present,the medical situation of rural elderly in Wuling area of China has been greatly improved compared with the past,showing an overall relatively positive state;however,affected by time and other factors,there are still some medical difficulties.This article selects Dongxiaogou Village as an individual case,divides the medical resources owned by the village into three levels: professional,folk and public,and conducts in-depth investigation on the status of health and medical treatment of the elderly in the village.The survey results show that the health status of the elderly in the village is relatively fragile,with poor health self-assessment,a large proportion of chronic diseases and a high prevalence rate of two weeks.The village still has a negative concept of medical treatment,the application of medical knowledge is not scientific;The low willingness of medical payment,the high policy dependence;there is a gap between the role of the village clinics and the expectations of the elderly;the private medical resources are difficult to meet;and the five difficulties that restrict the enthusiasm for medical treatment.Based on the social and cultural perspective theory of medical anthropology,the causes of affecting the medical treatment for the rural elderly in Wuling area are analyzed,and it believes that the rural elderly in Wuling area is the result of social,cultural,individual and other factors.The social causes of the influence are the elastic force and tension of the medical security policy,the restriction of the economic income,and the long-term imbalance of the grassroots medical and health resources.The cultural causes of the influence are that in different cultural backgrounds,people have different interpretations of the causes of diseases,the coexistence of multiple medical systems,the change of family function lead to the indifference of traditional filial piety culture,the unscientific cognition of medical knowledge of the elderly and their families under the impact of modernization,and the Tujia traditional medical care is endangered.The individual causes are the individual differences and ideas that affect the medical attitude of the elderly.The author believes that improving the quality of medical treatment for the rural elderly in Wuling area should be made from social,culture,individual and other levels.The social level should improve the relevant medical security mechanism;build a harmonious cultural atmosphere;at the personal level.
