Objective: To analyze the overall etiology distribution of patients with epilepsy(PWE)in Qinghai, the distribution of epilepsy at different ages, different age of onset, and different course of disease, and to explore the incidence and risk factors of anxiety and depression in patients with epilepsy in Qinghai.provides a certain reference basis for epilepsy prevention and treatment work in Qinghai. Methods: Patients with definite diagnosis of epilepsy in the Department of Neurology of three tertiary care hospitals in Qinghai from September 2019 to August 2020 were collected and divided into ≤ 18 years old group and > 18 years old group, demographic data and clinical data were collected, collected demographic and clinical data, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale(GAD-7)score,Epilepsy Depression Scale(NDDI-E)score,Child Self-Rating Depressive Disorder Scale(DSRSC)score,Multidimensional Child Anxiety Scale(MASC)score were completed. The enrolled patients were classified according to the ILAE2017 classification criteria, and according to the above scores, they were divided into epilepsy comorbid anxiety group and epilepsy without anxiety group, epilepsy comorbid depression group and epilepsy without depression group. The common causes, medication before enrollment and seizures, general data, seizure type and epilepsy type, anxiety scale score and depression scale score were counted, respectively. The data was analyzed using SPSS19.0 statistical software.Results:1.The common causes of epilepsy in patients ≤ 18 years of age were hereditary and infectious, and the common causes of epilepsy in patients > 18 years of age were structural;2.multivariate analysis indicated that seizure frequency(> 1 time/month)and medication(two drugs and more)in patients with epilepsy 3 months before enrollment were risk factors for comorbid anxiety and depression in adolescent epilepsy in Qinghai, and the course of epilepsy was a risk factor for comorbid depression in adolescent epilepsy.Marriage(married),education level, seizure frequency 3 months before enrollment(> 1time/month),duration of epilepsy, and medication use in epileptic patients(two drugs and more)were risk factors for comorbid anxiety and depression in adult epileptic patients in Qinghai, and type of epilepsy(temporal lobe epilepsy)was a risk factor for comorbid depression in adult epilepsy.Conclusions:1.The causes of adolescent epilepsy in Qinghai are hereditary and infectious.Structural epilepsy is a common cause of adult epilepsy.2.The incidence of anxiety and depression in adolescent patients with epilepsy is lower than that in adults, which is related to their good medication compliance and low seizure frequency, while adult epilepsy patients have low autonomy, poor medication compliance, and higher incidence of anxiety and depression.
