Abstract/Summary:
Objective To investigate the current situation of negative emotion and mental health of the elderly in nursing home.To explore the effect of life review on subjective well-being,self-acceptance,loneliness,life satisfaction and depression of the elderly in nursing home.Methods1.Investigation on Self-acceptance and Subjective Well-being of elderly in Nursing Homes: Questionnaire method was used to investigate the subjective well-being,self-acceptance,loneliness,life satisfaction and depression of the elderly in nursing homes and analyze their current situation.2.Intervention study of life review method on self acceptance and subjective well being of the elderly in nursing homes: By using random number table method,63 elderly people who met the inclusion criteria in Fuyang elderly apartment were randomly divided into two groups.The control group received routine care and accompany from nursing home,while the experimental group received routine care and accompany on the basis of routine care and accompany Five life review individual interventions and four life review group interventions(each group intervention was carried out group by group after the last individual intervention,with an interval of 4-6 days).Before and after the intervention,self acceptance scale,subjective well-being scale(MUNSH),Loneliness Scale(UCLA),life satisfaction scale(LSIA)and Depression Scale(GDS-15)were used to measure the subjects,and the intervention effect of life review combined with group therapy on the indicators of the elderly in the nursing home was analyzed.Results1.Survey results of current situation:Self acceptance: the total average score of self acceptance was(44.11 ± 7.25),and the score rate was 67.86%.The scores of each dimension from high to low were:average score of cognitive acceptance dimension was 3.54 ± 1.30(70.85%),average score of emotional acceptance dimension was 3.42 ± 1.36(68.45%),average score of behavior acceptance dimension was 3.26 ± 1.54(65.16%).Subjective well-being: the total average score of subjective well-being of the elderly in the nursing home was(30.29 ± 12.282),and the score rate was 63.10%.The average score of positive emotion was 5.73 ± 3.128(57.30%).The average score of negative emotion was 6.66 ± 2.909(66.60%).The average score of positive experience items was 8.29 ± 3.862(59.21%).The average score of negative experience was 8.58 ± 4.324(61.29%).Loneliness: The total average score of loneliness was(45.48 ± 12.181),with a scoring rate of 56.85%.Life satisfaction: the total average score of life satisfaction of the elderly in nursing homes was 9.87 ± 4.825,with a score rate of 49.35%.Depression: the total average score of depression was 6.69 ± 3.919.2.Results of intervention study:There was no significant difference in the general information between the experimental group and the control group(P > 0.05).Self acceptance: there was no significant difference in self acceptance score between the experimental group and the control group before intervention(t =-1.410,P > 0.05).After the intervention,the scores of self acceptance in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(t = 14.520,P < 0.05).Before and after the intervention,the difference of self acceptance score in the experimental group was statistically significant(t =-15.141,P < 0.05),and no significance difference was found in the control group(t =1.712,P > 0.05).Subjective well-being: before the intervention,there was no significant difference in subjective well-being between the experimental group and the control group(t =-1.251,P > 0.05).After the intervention,the scores of subjective well-being in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(t = 5.416,P < 0.05).Before and after the intervention,the subjective well-being score of the experimental group was significantly different(t =-7.685,P < 0.05),and no significance difference was found in the control group(t =1.033,P > 0.05).Loneliness: before the intervention,there was no significant difference in the score of loneliness between the experimental group and the control group(t = 0.358,P >0.05).After the intervention,the loneliness score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(t ’=-12.600,P < 0.05).Before and after the intervention,the loneliness score of the experimental group was significantly different(t = 14.522,P < 0.05),and no significance difference was found in the control group(t =-1.866,P > 0.05).Life satisfaction: before the intervention,there was no significant difference in the score of life satisfaction scale between the experimental group and the control group(Z =-1.861,P > 0.05).After the intervention,the score of life satisfaction in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(Z =-5.189,P < 0.05).Before and after the intervention,there was significant difference in the score of life satisfaction in the experimental group(Z=-4.761,P < 0.05),and no significance difference was found in the control group(Z=-0.995,P > 0.05).Depression: before the intervention,there was no significant difference in the scores of depression scale between the experimental group and the control group(Z =-1.816,P > 0.05).After the intervention,the score of depression scale in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(Z =-4.752,P < 0.05).Before and after the intervention,the scores of depression scale in the experimental group were significantly different(Z =-4.790,P < 0.05),and no significance difference was found in the control group(Z =-1.292,P > 0.05).Conclusion1.The elderly in the pension home have a moderate level of self acceptance and subjective well-being,a moderate loneliness,a low level of life satisfaction and a moderate depression.Therefore,there is a lot of room for improvement in self acceptance,subjective well-being and life satisfaction of the elderly in nursing homes,and the level of loneliness and depression needs to be reduced.2.Life review cases combined with group therapy intervention can improve the level of self acceptance,subjective well-being and life satisfaction of the elderly in nursing homes,and reduce the loneliness and depression symptoms of the elderly.This study suggests that the combination of life review cases and group therapy can improve the mental health level of the elderly in many aspects.This study provides evidence support for the intervention effect of life review on the elderly self acceptance,subjective well-being,loneliness,life satisfaction and depression.
