Objective:The objective of this study is to analyze the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)attainment rates in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)and to analyze LDL-C level changes during patient follow-up.We also predict the impact of anticipated lifestyle changes on LDL-C attainment rates. Methods:Data from patients who underwent PCI between July 2017 and June 2019 at the Department of cardiovascular medicine, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University were retrospectively reviewed.LDL-C levels at baseline, first follow-up,and final follow-up were collected separately, and the degree of changes in LDL-C levels during the patients’ follow-up was analyzed.LDL-C attainment rates were assessed by increasing or decreasing LDL-C levels by 0.1 mmol / L to 0.5 mmol / L in patients undergoing PCI based on the anticipated range of LDL-C change in response to lifestyle interventions. Results:Data were analyzed for 423 patients(mean age,62 ±10 years),and the average baseline LDL-C level was 3.11 ± 0.99 mmol/L.At the first follow-up,52.2% of patients achieved the treatment goal(LDL-C < 1.8 mmol / L or at least a 50%reduction in LDL-C level),and at the final follow-up,51.5% of patients achieved the treatment goal.22% and 11.6% of patients, respectively, met the treatment goals of the 2016 ESC / EAS lipid guideline and the 2019 ESC / EAS lipid guideline at the final follow-up period. The distribution of LDL-C levels remained relatively stable during both follow-up periods with 49.6% of patients experiencing a categorical change during both follow-up periods. The anticipated reduction in LDL-C level of0.1 mmol/L increased attainment rates from 51.5% to 62.4%;LDL-C increased by0.1mmol/l and the attainment rates decreased to 44.9%.Conclusion:51.5% of PCI patients after receiving statins achieve the LDL-C treatment target recommended by the guidelines. The level of LDL-C fluctuates during follow-up,and should be monitored at least semiannually on follow-ups,and treatment adapted accordingly.Anticipated lifestyle intervention significantly improves LDL-C attainment rates in patients after PCI.
