Objective To investigate the relationship between microvessel density(MVD),lymphatic vessel density(LVD),vasculogenic mimicry(VM)and clinicopathological features and prognosis in primary hepatocellular carcinoma(PLC).Methods 84 cases of PLC specimens surgically resected from the first and second affiliated Hospitals of Anhui Medical University from January 2008 to December 2017 were collected.MVD was detected by immunohistochemical CD34 staining,LVD by immunohistochemical D2-40 staining and VM by CD34+PAS nested staining.The relationship between the three unused indexes MVD,LVD and VM and the poor clinicopathological features and prognosis of PLC were analyzed.Results The average values of MVD in cancerous tissues of 84 patients with PLC,paracancerous tissues of 10 patients with PLC and liver tissues of 10 patients with non-hepatocellular carcinoma were 85.71 ± 38.46,57.10 ± 27.29,56.40 ± 25.92,respectively.The average expression of MVD was different in cancer tissues,paracancerous tissues and normal tissues,and there was statistical significance(P <0.05).The average LVD values of cancer tissues,paracancerous tissues and normal liver tissues were 20.24±11.22,12.10±8.25 and 6.90±11.14,respectively.The average expression of MVD was different in cancer tissues,paracancerous tissues and normal tissues,and there was statistical significance(P < 0.05).In hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma,the average values of MVD and LVD at the invasive edge of the tumor were correlated with tumor diameter,degree of differentiation and satellite nodules(P < 0.05),but not with age,sex,alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)and HBs Ag(P > 0.05).The positive rate of VM expression in hepatocellular carcinoma was related to tumor diameter,degree of differentiation,liver cirrhosis and vascular invasion(P < 0.05),The positive rate of VM expression in cholangiocarcinoma was related to tumor diameter,degree of differentiation and vascular invasion(P < 0.05).The results of correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between MVD,LVD and VM.(r was 0.454,0.475 and 0.350,respectively,P < 0.05).Survival analysis showed that the survival time of MVD and LVD low density group was higher than that of high density group,and the survival time of VM negative expression group was higher than that of VM positive expression group.Conclusion MVD,LVD and VM are closely related to the poor clinicopathological features and prognosis of PLC,which may be of certain significance for clinicians to predict the invasion,metastasis and prognosis of PLC. |
