Objective:To investigate the effect of hot-sensitive moxibustion on myotonia of parkinson’s disease. Methods: This study was conducted on 90 patients with the myotonia of parkinson’s disease in the department of Neurology of the Jangxi Provincial Hospital of Intergrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from Oct 2018 to Jan 2021.These patients were randomly divided into the treatment group(hot-sensitive moxibustion group),the control group one(acupuncture group)and the control group two(western medicine group). The patients in the hot-sensitive moxibustion group were treated with hot-sensitive moxibustion combined with western medicine treatment. The patients in the acupuncture group were treated with western medicine combined with acupuncture, while the patients in the western medicine group was treated with only taking western medicine.Patients’ general information,Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS)and Hoehn-Yahr Scale were collected and analyzed. All the statistical analyses were performed with SPSS25.0 software. Results: After treatment and fllow up two weeks,UPDRS movement function(UPDRS Ⅲ)score and myotonia scores showed significantly lower in both acupuncture group and hot-sensitive moxibustion group. The UPDRS Ⅲ score and myotonia scores in both acupuncture group and hot-sensitive moxibustion group after treatment and fllow up two weeks were significantly lower than the UPDRS Ⅲ score and myotonia scores in the western medicine group. Before treatment, after treatment, fllow up two weeks and fllow up four weeks, there were no statistically discrepancy in UPDRS scores and Hoehn-Yahr scale scores among the three groups.Compared with the western medicine group, the UPDRS score and the Hoehn-Yahr scale score in the acupuncture group and the hot-sensitive moxibustion group showed no statistically discrepancy at each time point.Compared with the acupuncture group, the UPDRS score and the Hoehn-Yahr scale score in the acupuncture group showed no statistically discrepancy at each time point. Conclusion : Hot-sensitive moxibustion can improve the myotonic symptoms and motor function in Parkinson’s disease, and the curative effect is equivalent to acupuncture.
