Objective To compare the long-term effects of Robot-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomy and Video-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomyMethods This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 78 patients who underwent minimally invasive esophageal cancer surgery in the Department of Thoracic Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2016 to January 2018,and divided them into RAMIE group and VAMIE group according to the surgical method. There were 38 cases in RAMIE group and 40 cases in VAMIE group. The Disease-free survival rates and overall survival rate were compared between the two groups. Results The 3-year disease-free survival rates of the two groups(68.4% in RAMIE vs 47.5% in VAMIE;P<0.05)were significantly different; The 3-year overall survival rates of the two groups(76.3% in RAMIE vs 57.5% in VAMIE;P>0.05)were not significantly different.Cox proportional hazard regression showed that the approach of surgery, the degree of tumor differentiation, the depth of tumor infiltration, lymph node metastasis and postoperative adjuvant therapy were independent risk factors for postoperative recurrence of esophageal cancer. Conclusion The 3-year disease-free survival rate of robot-assisted radical esophagectomy is higher than that of thoracoscopic and laparoscopic radical esophagectomy.
