Abstract/Summary:
Objective:This study uses a Meta-analysis method to comprehensively and systematically evaluate the efficacy of laser combined with local desensitizer to treat dentine hypersensitivity.Provide scientific guidance and theoretical basis for laser combined with local desensitizer to treat dentine hypersensitivity.Method:This study searched five electronic databases and Clinical-Trials.gov and used the manual search as a supplement. We searched electronic databases include PubMed,Cochrane Library,EMBASE,Web of Science, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database. The search time is up to November 2020.month.This study included adults with dentine hypersensitivity without systemic diseases to compare the clinical randomized controlled trials of laser combined with local desensitizer and placebo, local desensitizer, and laser alone in the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity. We evaluated the quality of the included literature according to the"risk of bias assessment"tool of the Cochrane systematic review. The Q-value statistics test the heterogeneity among the included studies.Use Review Manager(Version 5.4.1)to conduct the meta-analysis of the D-L random-effects model on the standardized mean difference(SMD)and 95%confidence interval(CI).We used Stata SE(Version 15)for publication bias and Meta-regression analysis.Results:1.Search resultA total of 2444 articles were retrieved from the selected database. After screening, the study included nine items on the analysis of the efficacy of laser combined with the local desensitizer in the treatment of dentin hypers-ensitivity,clinical randomized controlled trial.2.According to the bias risk assessment tool of the Cochrane Collaboration,we evaluated the quality of the included literatureTwo studies were high-quality literature, five studies were medium-quality literature, and the remaining two studies were low-quality literature.3.Meta-analysis results3.1 This study included a total of three pieces of literature about the RCT of laser combined with local desensitizer and placebo in the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity and used a random-effects model to conduct a meta-analysis.The results showed that the laser combined with local desensitizer has an excellent curative effect. For placebo(SMD:-1.27,95%CI:-2.04,-0.49;I~2=82%,P=0.001),the combined effect size test(Z=3.2,P=0.001).3.2 In this study,a total of 8 articles were included in the randomized controlled trial on the efficacy analysis of laser combined with local desensitizer and local desensitizer in the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity.Meta-analysis was carried out using a random-effect model. The results showed that:laser combined with local desensitizer. The efficacy is better than that of local desensitizers(SMD:-1.34,95%CI:-2.36,-0.31;I~2=97%,P<0.00001),combined with the effect size test(Z=2.56,P=0.01).3.3 In this study,a total of 9 articles were included in the randomized controlled trial of the efficacy analysis of laser combined with local desensitizer and laser alone in the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity. The random-effects model meta-analysis showed that:(SMD,-0.51;95%CI,-0.98,-0.05;I~2=90%,P<0.00001),combined effect size test(Z=2.17,P=0.03).4.Sensitivity analysis resultThe results of this Meta-analysis are stable and reliable and can genuinely reflect the clinical efficacy of laser combined with local desensitizers in the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity.Conclusions:1.The effect of laser combined with local desensitizer is better than that of local desensitizer alone.2.The efficacy of laser combined with local desensitizer is better than that of laser therapy alone.3.The overall quality of clinical randomized controlled trials on laser combined with local desensitizers for the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity is moderate.Random allocation, blinding, especially the hiding of allocation schemes need to be perfect, and the number of documents that meet the inclusion criteria is small. The research needs a large number of long-term,high-quality clinical randomized controlled trials to confirm.
