Objective: Observes and analyzes the correlations between the radiologic characteristic of Kummell disease and its prognosis. Methods: Retrospective analysis of 33 patients with osteoporotic Kummell disease in the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from2016 to 2018,including 6 males and 27 females, age between 53 to 84,average age 71.All these patients were treated by PKP surgery and the number of surgical treatment of the lesion vertebral bodies is 40.The patients are with or without history of trauma, all of them with varying degrees of pain history,33 patients underwent complete X-ray,3D-CT and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)examinations and percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)after admission. All the patients were given postoperative 1 year after surgery.Analyze the correlation between the image characteristics and the prognosis by statistical study of the radiologic characteristic of sicken centrum and each patient’s VAS score,Functional status score standards(KPS)and Oswesay disability index(ODI).Results:Among 40 Kummell disease centrums,18(45%)of them had gas accumulation in the vertebral body,4(10%)of them had hydrops,21(52.5%)of them had osteosclerosis,15(37.5%)of them with vertebral wedge change,24(60%)of the them with biconcave change,1(2.5%)of them with flat change,21(52.5%)of intervertebral discs pneumatosis,Postoperative pain symptoms were significantly alleviated.Prognosis of sicken centrum with gas accumulation and osteosclerosis at the same time are better,P values were lower than 0.05,the difference was statistically significant;all shapes of flattening vertebral bodies and intervertebral discs pneumatosise P values were greater than0.05,the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion:Prognosis of sicken centrum with gas accumulation and osteosclerosis at the same time are better.Vertebral fracture morphology has impact on surgical prognosis.Prognosis of sicken centrum with vertebral wedge change are better.
