Objective: To detect the expression of Thymosin beta 4 and Thymosin beta 10 in epithelial ovarian cancer and matched normal ovarian tissues(distance from tumor margin ≥2cm),and to analyze the relationship between Tβ4 and clinical indexes and clinical prognosis.To explore the role of Thymosin beta 4 and Thymosin beta 10 in the occurrence and progression of epithelial ovarian cancer and their correlation with the malignant degree and prognosis of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer,in order to provide a new research direction for the treatment of ovarian cancer.Methods: The paraffin blocks of tumor tissues and matched normal ovarian tissues of100 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer who underwent surgery in the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from February 2013 to February 2015 were collected.The age of onset was 35-76 years old.According to the staging of FIGO in 2014,there were 46 cases of stage Ⅰ ~ Ⅱ and 54 cases of stage Ⅲ ~ Ⅳ.None of the patients received any anti-tumor therapy before operation,and there were no acute or chronic infectious and infectious diseases,hematological diseases,autoimmune diseases and other malignant tumors.Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of Thymosin beta 4 and Thymosin beta 10 in epithelial ovarian cancer and paired normal ovarian tissues.The patients with epithelial ovarian cancer were followed up by telephone for 5 years(the follow-up period was up to February 2020),and the tumor recurrence,metastasis,survival and time of death were recorded during the follow-up period.Statistical methods were used to analyze the expression of Thymosin beta 4 and Thymosin beta 10 in epithelial ovarian cancer and their relationship with clinical indexes and prognosis of patients.Results:1.The high expression rate of Thymosin beta 4 in epithelial ovarian cancer was 63%,which was significantly higher than that in paired normal ovarian tissues(22%)(P< 0.05).In epithelial ovarian cancer,the pathological grade,tumor diameter and BMI were closely related to the high expression rate of Tβ 4(P < 0.05).The high expression rate of),Thymosin beta 4 was not significantly correlated with FIGO stage,pathological type,lymph node metastasis and the age of onset.2.The high expression rate of Thymosin beta 10 in epithelial ovarian cancer was 56%,which was significantly higher than that in paired normal ovarian tissues(24%).The tumor pathological grade and BMI were closely related to the high expression rate of Thymosin beta 10(P < 0.05).Thymosin beta 10 was not significantly correlated with tumor diameter,FIGO stage,pathological type,lymph node metastasis and age of onset.3.In epithelial ovarian cancer,there were 20 cases of high expression of Thymosin beta4 and low expression of Thymosin beta 10,13 cases of low expression of Thymosin beta 4and high expression of Thymosin beta 10,43 cases of high expression of both,and 24 cases of low expression of both.According to the results of Spearman rank correlation test,the expression of Thymosin beta 4 and Thymosin beta 10 in epithelial ovarian cancer was positively correlated,and the difference was statistically significant.4.Among the 100 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer at the end of follow-up,the5-year survival rates of patients with high and low expression of Thymosin beta 4 were 24 and 25 respectively,and those with high and low expression of Thymosin beta 10 were 19 and 30,respectively.The survival rate of the group with high expression of Thymosin beta 4and Thymosin beta 10 was significantly lower than that of the group with low expression of Thymosin beta 4 and Thymosin beta 10,and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).5.The clinical indexes and the expression of Thymosin beta 4 and Thymosin beta 10 in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer were included in Cox regression analysis.The results showed that the expression of Thymosin beta 10,FIGO stage and pathological grade might be related to the total survival time of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The expression of Thymosin beta 4 and Thymosin beta 10 in epithelial ovarian cancer was higher than that in normal ovarian tissue.2.There was a positive correlation between the expression of T β 4 and T β 10.The expression of T β 4 and T β 10 was correlated with the increase of BMI and the decrease of differentiation,and the expression of T β 4 was correlated with the diameter of tumor.3.With the increase of Thymosin beta 10 expression,the postoperative survival rate and survival time of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer decreased,and the clinical prognosis was worse.
