| Objective : To identify the expression of LRP8 in colorectal cancer tissues and its relation to clinical prognosis so as to provide a theoretical basis for the evaluation of diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer patients. Methods: From Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital,we collected the surgical resection specimens of patients with colorectal cancer, without preoperative chemotherapy and immunotherapy and other auxiliary treatment measures, and their normal colorectal tissues,in the period from January 1,2020 to September 1,2020.We analyzed the relation of LRP8 expression to the clinical features by detecting the expression of LRP8 in colorectal cancer tissues and normal tissues adjacent thereto using immunohistochemistry technique. Results : We found that among the 45 colorectal cancer tissues,37 showed a high expression of LRP8(82.22%)while in the other 8 cases, the expression was low(17.78%);for the normal tissues adjacent to the colorectal cancer tissues,17 out of 45 presented a high expression of LRP8(37.78%)and the other 28 low(62.22%).A statistical difference was found here(P<0.05).By analyzing the grouped clinical data,we discovered that the expression of LRP8 was related to the staging of the colorectal cancer, neurovascular invasion,CEA,and low-density lipoprotein(P < 0.05)and it was unrelated to gender, age, tumor differentiation,Ki67,CA199,lymph node metastasis, triglyceride, total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein(P>0.05).We also noted that based on the univariate logistic regression analysis patients with positive expression of LRP8,compared with those with negative expression, had worse tumor staging prognosis, and were more prone to neurological invasion and vascular invasion;CEA and LDL were more likely to be positive. Conclusion : Our results indicate that there is a higher expression of LRP8 in colorectal cancer tissues. The expression of LRP8 correlates with the staging of the colorectal cancer, neurovascular invasion,CEA,and low density lipoprotein.Compared with those with negative expression, patients with positive expression of LRP8 had worse tumor staging prognosis, and were more prone to neurological invasion and vascular invasion;CEA and LDL were more likely to be positive. |
