Objective: The aim of this study is to explore clinical effects of different Kinesio-taping methods on hemiplegic shoulder pain associated with spasticity in patients with stroke. Methods: One hundred and twenty patients from Rehabilitation Department of Affiliatied NO.1 Huaian Hospital with Nanjing Medical University were randomly allocated into treatment group(n=40),control group(n=40)and blank group(n=40).All patients received routine rehabilitation intevation. The control group was treated with the deltoid muscle and serratus anterior muscle(routine kinesio-taping method),while the treatment group was treated with the supraspinatus muscle, rhomboid muscle and superior trapezius muscle(new kinesio-taping method). The curative effects were observed after 1 month.Patients in the blank group were not treated with Kinesio-taping.Results: After one month of treatment,VAS scores were improved by(3.40±0.27)in the control group and(4.95±0.31)in the treatment group(p< 0.01).The improvement of painless PROM group was(23.10±0.81)° in the control group and(42.41±1.41)°in the treatment group. The comparison was statistically significant(p< 0.01).The pain and activities of patients in the treatment group were better than those in the control group.VAS scores and painless PROM both in the treatment group and the control group were significantly better than those in the blank group(p<0.01).There were no significant differences of FMA-UE and MAS in the treatment proup and the control proup with those in the blank group(p>0.05).Conclusion: Kinesio-taping can reduce pain and increase painless passive shoulder range of miton and the new kinesio-taping method is superior to the routine method. |
