Analysis Of Emotional Eating Behavior In Miao And Buyi Nationality Children And Its Influencing Factors In A County Of Guizhou Province

Objective:To describe and analyze the current situation and influencing factors of emotional eating behavior of Miao and Buyi children in an autonomous prefecture of Guizhou province,so as to provide theoretical basis for the development of intervention measures for emotional eating of Miao and Buyi children.Methods:Using the method of multi-stage stratified random sampling,2078 students(942Miao and Buyi children and 1136 Han children)aged 12-15 years old from one primary school and one junior middle school(6 in total)in three townships of a county in an autonomous prefecture of Guizhou Province were investigated by questionnaire,The contents included general information questionnaire,EES-CA,social support scale(SSRS),Pittsburgh sleep quality questionnaire(PSQI)and coping style questionnaire.Cronbach’s α reliability coefficient,half reliability,Guttman reliability coefficient,one-way random model measurement intra group correlation coefficient(ICC)and factor analysis were used to analyze the reliability and validity of the scale.Chi-square test、pearson correlation analysis、t test and analysis of variance were used for univariate analysis.Stepwise multiple linear regression model and path analysis model were used to analyze the influencing factors of children’s emotional eating behavior.Results:(1)Reliability and validity of EES-CA The Cronbach’s α coefficient of the scale was 0.9420 in Miao and Buyi Nationality children,the split Spearman Brown reliability coefficient was 0.8990,Guttman reliability coefficient was 0.8970,ICC value was 0.9420(95% CI was 0.9380 ～ 0.9450),the KMO value was 0.9600,and Bartlett test of sphericity approximately Chi-square value was 22425.737,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The Cronbach’s α coefficient of the scale was 0.9400 in Han children,the split Spearman Brown reliability coefficient was 0.8900,Guttman reliability coefficient was 0.8880,ICC value was0.9400(95% CI was 0.8880-0.9480),the KMO value was 0.9520,and Bartlett test of sphericity approximately Chi-square value was 9654.606,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)Differences of emotional eating level among children of different nationalities Compared with the scores of emotional eating of children of different nationalities,the scores of depression and total emotional eating of children of Miao and Buyi Nationality were higher than those of Han nationality(P< 0.05).(3)Analysis on the influencing factors of emotional eating behavior of Miao and Buyi children with different characteristics The results of univariate analysis showed that left behind children,only one child,poor family economy,high parents’ culture and poor relationship with their parents had higher scores of emotional eating(P<0.05),no physical exercise,two-week illness,school bullying,suicidal ideation and poor sleep quality had higher scores of emotional eating(P<0.05);The total score of objective support was significantly correlated with the emotional status of Miao and Buyi children(r=-0.809,P<0.001),problem oriented coping was negatively correlated with emotional eating(r=-0.809,P<0.001),while emotional coping style was positively correlated with emotional eating(r=0.663,P<0.001);Regression analysis showed that the main factors influencing the emotional eating behavior of Miao and Buyi children were left behind children,school bullying,suicidal ideation,sleep quality and emotional coping style(P< 0.05);Path analysis showed that the direct effects value of suicidal ideation,emotional coping style and sleep quality on emotional eating behavior were as follows 0.127,-0.142,and 0.600,respectively,the indirect effect value of left behind on emotional eating behavior was-0.004;the direct effect value of school bullying on emotional eating behavior was 0.286,and the indirect effect value was 0.153.Conclusion:(1)EES-CA is suitable for the evaluation of sample children.The scale has good reliability and validity in Miao and Buyi children.(2)The scores of emotional eating in Miao and Buyi children are higher than that of Han children.The influencing factors of emotional eating behavior can directly affect emotional eating,such as suicidal thoughts,emotional coping styles and sleep quality,while left behind can only be indirectly used.(3)Campus bullying can not only directly affect emotional eating,but also indirectly affect emotional eating by suicide and emotional coping.
