| Background and Purpose of the Study:(1)Thyroxine regulates lipid metabolism in vivo, and studies have shown that subclinical hypothyroidism(SCH)is associated with the development of lipid metabolism disorders, however, the changes in plasma lipoproteins in SCH patients are not consistent.(2)Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD)is associated with a high prevalence of depression, and some studies have found that patients with ASCVD with depression have improved depressive symptoms and reduced free tetraiodothyronine(FT4)compared to baseline after medication, suggesting a correlation between thyroxine and ASCVD with depression.Study methods:(1)To review the health check-up data from 2018 to 2020 at the Health Management Centre of Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, the study subjects are divided into SCH and control groups, and the lipid changes between SCH and control groups were compared.Pearson analysis and multiple linear regression analysis are used to analyse the relationship between free triiodothyronine(FT3),FT4 and TG,HDL-C,TC and LDL-C in SCH patients stratified by gender.triiodothyronine,FT3),and FT4 in relation to TG,HDL-C,TC,and LDL-C.(2)Patients with ASCVD with depressive status hospitalised in the Department of Geriatric Cardiovascular Medicine between 2019 and2021,who are medically improved for depressive symptoms, are collected to observe changes in thyroxine before and after the intervention, using regression analysis to explore the correlation between thyroxine and depression,as a control before and after their own intervention.Results:(1)A total of 6341 subjects are included in the study, with 983 and 1329 cases of SCH in men and women respectively.HDL-C,TC and LDL-C levels are higher in SCH patients than in controls(P<0.05),and Pearson analysis shows that FT4 in men is associated with HDL-C(r=0.093)and with LDL-C(r=-0.096)(P<0.05).In women FT3 is associated with TC(r=0.058),HDL-C(r=0.087)(P<0.05);FT4 with TG(r=-0.070),HDL-C(r=0.070)(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis shows that in men,FT4 is positively correlated with HDL-C and negatively correlated with LDL-C(P<0.05).In women FT3 is positively correlated with TC,HDL-C and FT4 with HDL-C(P<0.05).(2)A total of 31 patients with ASCVD with depressive status are included in the study.26 cases are clinically effective and 5 cases are ineffective, and the changes in FT3,FT4,triiodothyronine(T3)and thyroxine(T4)levels are not statistically significant in the control before and after their own intervention.Conclusions:(1)Compared to controls,SCH patients has elevated levels of TC,HDL-C and LDL-C.In SCH,FT4 is positively correlated with HDL-C and negatively correlated with LDL-C in men,and FT3 is positively correlated with TC,HDL-C and FT4 with HDL-C in women.(2)The levels of FT3,FT4,T3 and T4 do not change before and after the intervention in patients with ASCVD with depressive status, and thyroxine may not correlate with depression in patients with ASCVD with depressive status. |
