A Study Of The Social Tension Of Folk Religions In Ming And Qing Dynasties

For the traditional religion,the folk religion is a kind of new religion movement.It’s an important part of Chinese traditional culture,the existence and development of it has an unique effect and significance on Chinese society.It can go back to the five-dou-grain Taoism and Taiping Taoism.While,it’s in the time of Ming and Qing dynasties when the folk religionas a strong powerful out before the world.Different folk religions have different character and destiny,such as Luo Taoism,Wenxiang Taoism,Bagua Taoism,Hongyong Taoism,Yizhuxiang Taoism and so on.While,the destiny and effect of them were different,some had stong power and possessed big organization,such as Bagua Taoism;But the others like a flash in the pan;so,some scholars divided the folk religion of China into two factions which are"the group of Dove" and "the group of hawk",the former shown peace and mild,while,the later had stong rebel character.This made by both interal and external reasons;Previous schlarsofenstudy folk religion through the perspective of peasant uprising and heresy,this make us thought heresy and not accept by the authoritywhen we hear the folk religion.while,what’s the real face of the folk religion on earth is worth exploring,this can help us get a clear understanding of the folk religion in Ming and Qing dynasties,and also help us find the big promoting role made by the folk religion in that time,Besides,it also help us have a right attitude on the folk religion in our times.This article attempts to start from the perspective of the tension,illustrated by the case of Hong Yong taught in Ming and Qing dynasties,and making the case happened in that time as the entry point,to discussthe factors that have effects on the social tension of Hong Yong taught,for instance,the scriptures and belief,the social activities,the participants about Hong Yong taught and so on.The next,we also try to discover the effects of social tension on the fatal of Hong Yong taught,and then,as the conclusion of this article,we also attempt to use the result above to study the social tension of other common folk religions in Ming and Qing dynasties,thereby,seek out the predominant factors about the social tension of folk religions and the effects of different tensions on folk religions’ fatal.So we can have a right understanding about the folk religion.
