With the introduction of the concept of connectivity and the construction of a community of destiny,the communication of countries around the world is becoming more and more intensive through English,which is used as a tool of communication,it plays an important role in the development of contemporary international language.English curriculum standards also indicate that the development of oral English ability is an indispensable part of learning English.In the English education system of our country,the stage of junior middle school English is very important.Although junior high school English teaching has achieved some teaching results,but the teaching of spoken English is relatively backward,this phenomenon is particularly prominent in rural areas.Because of the restriction of various factors,many problems in oral English teaching in rural junior middle schools have not been solved.Therefore,What is the situation of Oral English teaching in junior middle schools in rural areas,this article on the Fuping County rural junior high school oral English teaching conducted a survey.Based on a survey of 30 junior high school English teachers in rural areas of Fuping County,China,the present study aims to explore the role of junior high school English teachers in teaching and learning,this paper makes an investigation on the personal information of teachers,the concept of Oral English teaching,the teaching situation in the classroom,the explanation of oral English strategies,the use of teaching equipment,the content of teaching materials,the creation of the learning environment of oral English learning,the homework after class and the extracurricular teaching,the encouragement and evaluation to students,the teaching environment of schools,the professional ability of teachers,the development needs of teachers,the cultivation of students’ ability,the choice of teaching methods and the main problems in oral English teaching.This paper aims to explore:(1)what is the actual situation of oral English teaching in rural junior middle schools in Fuping County?(2)what are the factors that affect and restrict the development of oral English teaching in rural areas?What can be done to solve the existing problems in oral English teaching in rural junior middle schools in Fuping County?The results show that the teachers of English in rural junior middle schools in Fuping County are weak,their professional ability is insufficient,their educational level is low,their oral teaching concept is not strong,and the choice of teaching methods does not symbolically cultivate students’ oral ability,not Paying attention to the explanation of oral English strategies,not making good use of teaching equipment and teaching materials,not being open enough to the creation of a learning environment for oral English learning,and having one-sidedness in homework after class,after-class teachers have no practical guidance for students’ oral English.Teachers ’evaluation of Students’ encouragement is not enough and the school environment is not satisfactory.Some teachers have strong expectations of oral English training and hope that oral English test will be included in the test They believe that the examination system of exam-oriented education,the lack of language environment,students ’psychological barriers and teachers’ low professional quality are the main problems of oral English teaching nowadays.The study found that the reasons for the above results are:lack of professional teachers,low English ability.Teachers do not know enough about the curriculum standards and do not have an accurate grasp of the concept of spoken language teaching.The teaching of spoken language skills is also a half-word.The status of teachers and students in the classroom is reversed and exchanged.Teachers can not make full use of the teaching equipment and the contents of the teaching materials,the teaching method is too monotonous,the spoken language atmosphere is loose,the study process is tedious,does not have the corresponding spoken language test stimulation mechanism.The psychological factors of students and the defects of teaching equipment in the school.In view of these questions and the reason,the author also proposed some pointed suggestions.Teachers should change the teaching concept of spoken English,pay attention to students’ main position,give encouragement to students,especially strengthen the self-confidence of students with mental disorders,strengthen the use of equipment,improve their professional ability,and reflect positively,the school must organize the spoken language activity,strengthens the spoken language study atmosphere,must perfect teacher troop construction and so on suggestion.
