| Although enclosed space film is not a kind of conventional film type,it is easily recognizable because of the special form of space characteristic.It is the narrative type and element that can not be ignored in the film.In the film,which takes the enclosed space as the main narrative space,"whether or not to communicate with the outside world" determines the very different fate of the characters in the closed space,which has unique research value.According to the standard of "whether to communicate with the outside world or not",this paper divides the enclosed space into two types which are "fully enclosed space" and "semi-enclosed space".Further more,the communication between the characters in the closed space and the outside world is divided into two types: "one-way transmission" and "two-way transmission",all of which are realized through the media.Therefore,the central argument of this paper will focus on "the rebuild of the narrative mode of enclosed space through the media".The film,which takes enclosed space as the main narrative space,has developed its unique narrative mode for a long time.The narrative mode is different from the film type,which is composed of "unique story" and "the plot that the audience expects",and is a general law of artistic creation,rather than the dogma of the rules.Before dividing the enclosed space with the criterion of "whether or not to communicate with the outside world",the film of enclosed space has formed a series of classical narrative modes.The characters in the enclosed space use the media to communicate with the outside world,which rebuilds the narrative mode of enclosed space,and then results a new semi-enclosed space narrative mode.This is the focus of this paper.In the narrative mode of semi-enclosed space,because the network media is the new media in the 20 th century,its corresponding type of films are scarce.In this paper,the enclosed space film is divided by the timing of the appearance of network media.Before this timing,the narrative mode is classic semi-closed space narrative mode.In the narrative mode of the classic semi-enclosed space,the narrative time and the narrative space have been transformed to a certain extent.The "limited" and "infinite" narrative time correspond to the different narrative rhythm,and the "passive" and "active" enclosed space correspond to the character’s different motivation.The existence of the role of specific functions,including opposite roles--"intruder" and "indigenous people"--making the conflict in the enclosed space more intense;and the roles who help each other--"falling in the water" and "water rescuer"--so that the tension in the closed space could be stronger;and the roles who brings out each others’ characteristics--"missing" and "savior"--so that the characters in the enclosed space could become more nebulous.In particular plot modes,there are eleven commonly plots present in the semi-enclosed space narrative mode,including "different aims lead to the conflict","the crisis arises and the roles ask the outside world for help","the death bell brings the crisis","the roles inside are forced to get along to understand each other","the roles wait for rescue and try to save oneselves","the roles break the misunderstand and help each other","the roles get more defensive","human nature is tested in times of crisis","the roles overcome difficulties and finally escape the enclosed space","the mutual redemption causes happy end " and "no one survives".They bring new changes to the narration of enclosed space.Finally,what changes the addition of network media will bring to the narrative mode of the classic semi-enclosed space are analyzed through specific films in this paper. |
