A Report On The Translation Of Report And Recommendation Of The President:Demonstration Of Guangxi Elderly Care And Health Care Integration And Public-Private Partnership Project

In the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,President Xi Jinping clearly pointed out that as we respond proactively to aging population,we will provide integrated elderly care and medical services,and accelerate the development of old-age programs and industries.Under the Strategy of healthy China,such proposal will be the greatest opportunity for the development of the elderly service industry.In order to promote the “Combination of medical and health care” in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,the team leaded by the vice president from the Asian Development Bank prepared the Report and Recommendation of the President to the ADB Board of Directors to guide and advance the Demonstration of Guangxi Elderly Care and Health Care Integration and Public-Private Partnership Project,and provide sufficient financial support and detailed operation planning for the follow-up implementation of theproject.The translation task includes an evaluation report and a project agreement,with a total of 12609 words.The former part mainly focuses on the profile of the PPP project,including its proposal,overall project,due diligence,assurances and conditions and recommendation.And the latter part formulates relevant regulations and specific schedules reached by both sides.Based on the E-C translation project of the Report and Recommendation of the President,the translation report lays emphasis on the key points and difficulties involved in the translation process.Under the guidance of Hans Vermeer’s Skopos Theory,it analyzes the technical terms and long and complex sentences through typical cases.To be more specific,these case studies are mainly conducted from lexical level and syntactical level.From the lexical level,the report covers the translation of technical terms and archaic words and professional expression for common words or phrases.And from the syntactical level,different translation techniques and methods are employed to deal with passive sentences and complex and long sentences.At last,the author tries to make a conclusion for the translation strategies and methods adopted in this report and point out problems to be solved.
