A Study Of The Vietnamese Translation Of Su Tong’s Works From The Perspcetive Of Medio-translatology

Su Tong is one of the famous contemporary Chinese writers whose works have been translated into many languages and widely spread overseas,which make him the top three foreign translations of Chinese novels.His work Wives and Concubines has listed in China’s outstanding novel collections by multiple countries.The Boat to Redemption won several domestic and foreign literary awards,including the 3rd Insman Asian Literature Award,which is a successful case in the translation and introduction of Chinese literature.This article will take the angle of Medio-Translatology combined with Manipulation Theory,based on the Vietnam translation of Su Tong ‘s work "Wives and Concubines" and "The Boat to Redemption" as an example,analysis the translation strategies and specific translation methods used by the translator.Meanwhile,exploring the dissemination of works from social factors,and review the acceptance of works by collecting book reviews posted by readers on various types of book websites and newspapers and magazines in Vietnam and related research results by scholars.Through in-depth research on the creative treason of the two works,and the spread and acceptance of the two works in Vietnam,the following conclusions are reached: The successful translation of the two Vietnamese translation versions depends mainly on the translation strategy chosen by the translator and also the promotion of publishers and the manipulation of target language receiving environments.
