A Study Of The Nature Of Poetry From The Perspective Of Benjamin’s Language Image

As a very original literary form,poetry has always been regarded as a symbol of human spiritual civilization.However,after a century of exploration of Chinese modern poetry,the "Vernacular Movement" has been freed from classical Chinese and metrical rules,but has fallen into various disputes and rebellions.Different views on poetic language have formed the current situation of poetic division.Benjamin’s view of language has implications for examining this phenomenon.He proposed a "origin is the goal" as the thinking path,use it to observe at Chinese modern poetry and to reflect on the essence of poetry and help to understand the roots of all kinds of degradation of Chinese modern poetry.Benjamin picked up the fragments on the ruins of modernity to obtain the "Messianicism" of "redemption",which inspired us to explore how to restoring the spiritual power of poetry,and to find the double redemption of poetry language and human soul.Benjamin considers language as a generalized spiritual expression.He divides language into three levels: pure language,material language and human language.The essence of poetry is this pure language that can convey spiritual existence,and human language is its way of speech and substance.Poetry has the characteristics of "spatiality" and "metaphorism",which correspond to the way of conveying and speaking of poetry,respectively.The deeper characteristics is "negativity" that gives poetry vitality and creativity.Poetic meaning is the fundamental reason for human existence,and poetry should return to the original language.The study of the nature of poetry attempts to restore the poetic thinking mode of modern people,build a poetic existence for human beings,heal the poison of the human mind in the industrial age,and reshape the spiritual power of poetry.
