A Study Of Sichuan Preaching Novels In The Late Qing Dynasty

Preaching novels is a special type of novel that appeared in the late Qing Dynasty.It is a novel created by the Confucian scholars in the middle and lower levels of the late Qing dynasty,driven by various factors such as administrative guidance,social responsibility consciousness,and religious persuasive thinking.It has been widely published and distributed in the Southwest,Central Plains,North China,Jiangsu and Zhejiang,Lingnan,Taiwan and other places.Among them,Sichuan is a major town for the creation,publishing and dissemination of novels.At this stage,the academic circle’s research on preaching novels mainly focuses on the collection,collation,and examination of novel literature,and no comprehensive and systematic research results have been seen.In this article,the Sichuan novels in the late Qing Dynasty are the main research objects,and the other areas are trying to make new discoveries.This article includes nine parts,which are composed of an introduction,seven chapter texts and a conclusion part.In the introductory part,the author has fully explained the research status and deficiencies of the study of novels.This article’s research scope,research significance,research ideas and innovation points are fully explained.The first chapter discusses the historical origin of the novels presented in the late Qing Dynasty.This chapter starts from the oracle preaching system and systematically sorts out the three stages and characteristics of the development and evolution of the oracle preaching system from the thirty years of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty to the demise of the Qing Dynasty."Speak" and "Presentation Performance".Furthermore,it analyzes the deductive texts derived from the proclamation system of the decree,and believes that the deductive texts of the decree appear in the stage of "dating and speaking in the country",mainly experiencing the two stages of annotation and novels.The second chapter focuses on the clustering and causes of Sichuan’s novels.First of all,this chapter uses the statistical method to collect and sort out the Sichuan Provincial Novels literature materials,and reveals the distribution of the Sichuan Provincial Novels in the late Qing Dynasty,the distribution of novel writers’ hometowns and other information,and confirms its cluster existence.Secondly,from the perspective of the special cultural space formed by the topography of the Sichuan Basin,the special time point of the reform of the preaching system in the late Qing Dynasty,and the strong creative will of the squire writers,the reasons for the formation of the clustering of Sichuan preaching novels were clarified.The third chapter analyzes the ethical spirit of secular Confucianism contained in Sichuan’s novels.This chapter takes the distinction between secular Confucian ethical thought and orthodox Confucian ethical thought as the starting point,and makes three points of analysis: First,the secular Confucian ethical spirit of Sichuan’s novels is centered on good,and it is divided into self-cultivation The goodness and the goodness of the people;second,the narrative way of life of the novel is a reflection of the characteristics of the secular Confucian ethics’ attention to real life;third,it analyzes the way of spreading and inheriting the secular Confucian ethics in preaching novels.The fourth chapter discusses the religious characteristics of Sichuan’s novels.The religious nature of the preaching novel was discussed through three levels: the religious nature of the oracle’s preaching process,the religious color of the oracle’s "generational propaganda",and the religious view of good deeds based on karma and cumulation.Chapter five,from the Angle of adaptation,explores the book of Sichuan preaching novels.It is pointed out that the preaching novels draw on the story elements from the historical stories,the stories of the folk good books and the novels of the Ming and qing dynasties,and adapt the original texts by means of blending,expanding and extending the structure,so as to form the new stories that conform to the characteristics of the preaching novels.Chapter six explores the artistic features of Sichuan propaganda novels in late qing dynasty,analyzes the language features of "combination of loose rhyme" and the internal and external structure of propaganda novels,and points out the shortcomings of Sichuan propaganda novels in characterization and narrative argumentation.Chapter seven,In Sichuan to preach to evaluate the value of contemporary society,the novel thought about novel writing of literary history research helps Sichuan Sichuan,it also embodies the traditional Confucian scholar of patriotism,is of certain significance to contemporary patriotism education,at the same time,it also reflects the folk text interpretation under the national regulation on the process and the research on Sichuan dialect has certain help.Finally,it also pointed out that the preaching novels in Sichuan province had serious defects in maintaining feudal moral ethics and advocating religious superstition.The conclusion,this part,is the summary and review of the important points of this paper,and makes clear the research significance and value of this paper.
