The proposal of “Chinese culture aphasia” has sounded the alarm of the lack of Chinese culture in the field of foreign languages.Scholars and front-line teachers have begun to pay attention to the study of Chinese culture in foreign language teaching.The English Curriculum Standard for Ordinary Senior High School(2017 Edition)requires teachers to make efforts to integrate the teaching of cultural knowledge into language learning,give full play to the value of cultural education,and cultivate socialist builders and successors with Chinese fellings,international vision and cross-cultural communication ability.In view of this,the study aims to investigate the current situation,effect and influencing factors of the integration of Chinese culture into English teaching in senior high school in accordance with the academic quality requirements of the English Curriculum Standard for Senior Ordinary High School(2017 Edition),and puts forward countermeasures to strengthen the integration of Chinese culture into high school English teaching.In this study,136 students and 25 teachers from Z high school in H city were selected as research objects.By using the methods of questionnaire,interview,classroom observation and test,the researcher found that the following three months’ investigation were conducted: Students’ familiarity with Chinese culture expressed in English is low;Students’ ability to express Chinese culture in English is weak;Teachers do not think enough about the concrete implementation plan of increasing the integration of Chinese culture into English teaching,and the teaching of Chinese culture is only limited to the content of teaching materials,the relevant topics are not deeply explored.Cultural teaching is only a formality,which leads to the unsatisfactory effect of integration of Chinese culture into English teaching.After analyzing the collected data and materials,the researcher found that the main factors influence the effect of Chinese culture integration into senior high school English teaching: Students don’t payenough attention to the integration of Chinese culture and English learning,and they don’t have high enthusiasm for learning Chinese culture in English;Teachers have limited understanding of the integration of Chinese culture into English teaching,and their cross-cultural teaching literacy and ability need to be improved;the proportion of Chinese and Western culture in teaching textbooks is unbalanced and the introduction of Chinese spiritual culture is less;The English Curriculum Standard for Senior Ordinary High School(2017 Edition)for examination evaluation have not been implemented.In view of the above problems and influencing factors,the researcher puts forward the following suggestions on the integration of Chinese culture into senior high school English teaching: Change students’ learning concepts and correctly understand the relationship between Chinese culture and English learning;Strengthen the guidance of students’ interest and improve the initiative to express Chinese culture in English;Cultivate students’ cross-cultural appreciation,adaptation and communication abilities,and tell “Chinese stories”;Update teachers’ teaching concepts and establish the awareness that language teaching is culture teaching;Pay attention to teachers’ professional development and improve their intercultural teaching quality and ability;Strengthen the construction of English teaching materials and increase the content of Chinese culture,especially spiritual culture;Perfect the curriculum and increase elective courses on the comparison and appreciation of Chinese and Western cultures;Increase the content of cultural assessment and implement the evaluation requirements of the English Curriculum Standard for Senior Ordinary High School(2017 Edition).
