Mr.Zhan Ziqing’s Research On Xia History

Xia,as the earliest dynasty in Chinese literature,has a lot of controversy in academic circles because of the scarcity of historical materials and no direct evidence to prove its true existence.However,the study of Xia history is of great significance for building China’s early civilization and clarifying China’s development process from the origin of civilization to the national stage.Therefore,the study of Xia history has always been a hot issue in academia.Mr.Zhan Ziqing(1937-2019),as an older generation of pre-Qin history researchers and one of the founders of the pre-Qin history society,has published a series of works related to Xia history and has his own opinions on Xia history.This article attempts to read Mr.Zhan Ziqing’s writings,academic papers,book reviews,etc.,to explore some of Zhan’s views on Xia history and related methods of scholarship,and to briefly summarize the overview of the study of Xia history in the academic circles in the past 100 years.The full text is divided into three chapters: The first chapter is the study of Xia Xin’s history.The content of this chapter is mainly composed of two parts: the first is to sort out the views of scholars on the existence or non-existence of Xia from the 1920 s and 1930 s to the present,and to classify the papers that recognize Xia as a history of faith,and discuss the issues.The two concentrated studies on the origin of the Xia and the scope of central rule are separately sorted out;the second is Mr.Zhan Ziqing’s views on whether to believe in history,the origin of the Xia,and the central scope of the Xia rule.The second chapter is related to the study of the summer state.This chapter first combs various views of the scientific community on the form of the Xia state,such as slavery countries,feudal states,early states,etc.;secondly,explores Zhan Ziqing’s views on the Xia state form.At first,Mr.Zhan thought that Xia was a slave country,and then put forward the speculation that Xia was an early country;Chapter 3 summarizes Mr.Zhan Ziqing’s academic research methods.For example,Marx’s historical materialism,multiple evidence methods,general consciousness,and a research path biased towards the interpretation of ancient times.By sorting out the history research of Xia Dynasty by Mr.Zhan Ziqing,I hope that on the one hand,it can enrich and expand the content of the domestic Xia history and even the history of pre-Qin history research.Provide a reference for our current study.
