The emergence of gardens is a not only reflection of the accumulation of social wealth,but also a sign symbol social civilization.It must be related to the development stage of social history;at the same time,changes in social history will also lead to the metabolism of garden types and promote the birth of new gardens.The garden,as an accessory adjunct to the building,sprouted with the birth of the ancient Egyptian civilization,and eventually died out with the fall of the ancient Egyptian civilization.The climate of ancient Egypt was hot and dry,and the trees were sparse.Therefore,all the civilians and the nobles of the king wanted to have their own gardens.On the one hand,the garden can shade and cool.In hot conditions,the cool and humid environment can give people a heavenly feeling.On the other hand,gardens can be planted with fruit trees and vegetables,which not only bring people pleasant scenery,but also increase the practical purposes of economic benefits.It perfectly combines practicality and beauty,pleasure and interests,and played an indispensable role in the life of the ancient Egyptians,and also reflected a microcosm of the society of different classes in ancient Egypt.The ancient Egyptian garden was formed in the ancient kingdom,developed in the middle kingdom,and flourished in the new kingdom.The Ptolemy period and the Roman period were merged by foreign cultures.The historical background and the characteristics of different periods left a deep profound on the garden.In addition to the functions for shade,production,and entertainment,gardens also played an important role in the religion of ancient Egypt.The ancient Egyptians designed the garden based on the creation myths theology.They hoped that they could communicate with God through worship,sacrifice,dedication and other acts in the garden,and finally be blessed by the gods.Based on a large number of carvings sculptures and paintings,the garden is connected to reality and the afterlife.In this world,gardens provide people with spiritual enjoyment and economic utility services.In the afterlife,people still can enjoy this benefit.In addition,the garden also reflects the "circular" universe view of the ancient Egyptians to a certain extent.
