A Cognitive Study On The Con-categorization Of The "V De Bushi A,shi B" Construction Based On The CMB Model

In recent years,with the development of network,many scholars have studied network catchwords.“V de bushi A,shi B” construction has also attracted wide attention in the field of Linguistics.Previous scholars study it mainly from the perspectives of Structuralist Linguistics and Cognitive Linguistics.However,the previous studies have some limitations.Firstly,previous scholars seldom analyze the construction from a dynamic perspective.And none of them analyzes the categorization of it.Secondly,previous scholars overlook the role of Inertia Coercion when they study the construction based on Construction Coercion.They ignore the combination of Metaphor and Metonymy when they study the construction based on them.And there are also some problems exist in their researches such as one-sided corpus and insufficient argumentation when they study the construction based on Conceptual Blending Theory.What is worse,according to the author’s analysis,none of the three theories mentioned above can explain the construction thoroughly.Finally,the corpora collected by the previous scholars are relatively deficient and they are seldom analyzed and tallied systematically and comprehensively.In addition,the sentimental color and emergent meaning of the construction haven’t been analyzed specifically.In view of the shortcomings of the previous studies,the thesis collects 1080 sentences and establishes a corpus.Then,from the perspectives of Cognitive Linguistics and Construction Grammar,the thesis put forward CMB model(C:Construction Coercion,M: Metaphtonymy,B: Conceptual Blending Theory)by combining Cognitive Construction Coercion,Metaphtonymy,and Conceptual Blending Theory.Based on the CMB theoretical framework,the thesis analyzes the1080 sentences in syntactic,semantic and pragmatic aspects and further expounds the con-categorization of “V de bushi A,shi B” Construction.According to the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the construction,we find that:First,this thesis reexamines the construction from the perspective of dynamic categorization theory and explains its con-categorization based on CMB theoretical model,which provides a new perspective for the research of this construction.Second,the CMB model combined by Construction Coercion,Metaphtonymy,and Conceptual Blending Theory can not only systematically expound the con-categorization of the “V de bushi A,shi B”construction,but also make up for the deficiencies of the previous studies which are analyzed based on the three theories.Third,the thesis collects 1080 sentences about the “V de bushi A,shi B”construction establishing a corpus and analyzes them systematically including listing their sentimental colors and emergent meanings one by one.Therefore,it is able to provide a strong support for the research on the construction and make it become more comprehensive.
