Keigo Higashino pioneered the “realistic book school” style of Japanese whodunit. He was deeply influenced by the “social”whodunit writer Seihari Matsumoto and reflected social issues in his novels. In fact,Matsumoto’s novels laid the foundation for the formation of Keigo Higashino’s “realistic school” to some extent. In recent years, the research on Keigo Higashino’s whodunit has mainly started from the aspects of character image, narrative characteristics, artistic characteristics, etc. It lacks the combing of the types of crimes in the novels and the analysis of criminal psychology. Therefore, cutting into Keigo Higashino’s whodunit from the perspective of criminal psychology has a larger research space and significance. The past whodunit novels paid too much attention to the setting of tricks, the process of solving the case, and the reading of interest, lacking seriousness.Keigo Higashino has fully absorbed the advantages of the “Orthodox School” and the “Social School”,and can skillfully set up tricks to increase the readability of the novel, reflect the problems existing in the society, and pay attention to portraying the character’s image and psychological changes. The basic purpose of criminology theory is to find out the causes of crimes and distinguish the signs of criminal behaviors, and to analyze the criminal mental activities of the characters to accurately grasp the changes in the characters’ personality.Based on the principles of“authenticity”,“reality” and “sociality”,Keigo Higashino deeply analyzes the psychology of characters, digs deep into the deep content of human nature, expresses the transformation of human nature from good to evil in the form of tragedy, criticizes social problems, and gives reasoning The novel has distinctive aesthetic value and social value. This thesis is composed of six parts.Excluding the introduction and conclusion, the main content has four chapters:The first chapter mainly analyzes the reasons for the formation of Keigo Higashino’s reasoning style.First,it introduces the development process of Japanese whodunit and the profound influence of Higashino Keigo’s creation on contemporary Japanese whodunit. On the basis of absorbing the excellent experience of his predecessors,Keigo Higashino has continued to explore and gradually formed his own unique creative style.Keigo Higashino’s whodunit not only pays attention to the arrangement of tricks and meticulous reasoning, but also pays attention to social issues and analyzes the complexity behind human nature. These factors have also established its position in the whodunit world and formed a unique “realistic style” creation.style.Chapter Two discusses the types of crimes of characters in Keigo Higashino’s novels. There are many criminal methods in Keigo Higashino’s novels. This chapter divides them into three parts: forbearance to revenge, love to the abyss and human nature to evil.Through the combing of the types of crimes of the characters, the commonality and differences of the criminal characters in Keigo Higashino’s novels are explored.Sex helps us to better understand the criminal motives of the characters and understand the criminal psychology of the characters and the reasons for this psychology. The third chapter demonstrates the criminal psychological characteristics of the characters in Keigo Higashino’s novels. This chapter analyzes the criminal psychology of criminals in the previous chapter based on the related theories of criminal psychology and social psychology, and conducts research from three aspects: social environment, psychological factors and emotional factors.Taking the social environment as the background,Higashino Keigo portrays the most sinful characters, portraying the depravity and madness of these characters under the injustice, and expressing the abnormal behaviors of these characters due to psychological distortions under the mental torture. The fourth chapter discusses the literary aesthetic value and social value of Keigo Higashino’s whodunit.Keigo Higashino creates novels in the style of “realistic style”,which gives the novel a multi-level and multi-faceted interpretation space. His depiction of human nature is frightening, but it also reflects the pursuit of human nature. He will be unique in Japan. His “sorrow” spirit is integrated into his works, combining the unique aesthetics of beauty and sadness, reflecting the literary value of his works;his criticism of the dark environment of society reflects his views on campus violence, lack of female status, and social morality.Concerns about corruption and other issues show the social and educational significance of his works.Keigo Higashino is known as the “humanity” writer in whodunit novels, and his works are full of inspiration and guidance. He pays attention to exposing the reality of social injustice and expressing the degradation of the characters under the harsh environment. He hopes to draw people’s attention to the problem with the help of whodunit novels, and to explore the way for the harmonious development of mankind, which fully reflects his care for the destiny of mankind.
