Abstract/Summary:
Since the rise of cattle husbandry in Wyoming,it has been one of the important economic activities in Wyoming.Most of the state’s social and economic policies are based on the protection of cattle husbandry.At the end of the 19 th century,wolves were regarded as one of the main factors affecting the development of cattle husbandry in Wyoming.At the request and promotion of cattle herders,Wyoming launched a wolf hunting campaign from the 1890 s to the 1920 s.Based on the history of hunting wild wolves in Wyoming from 1890 s to 1920 s,this paper explores the economic and ideological reasons behind the hunting of wild wolves through the study of historical documents,government reports and laws,and analyzes and discusses the role played by ranchers,federal government,wildlife Survey Bureau and local government in this movement,and the impact of the campaign.This paper consists of introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part states the reason of the topic selection,summarizes the relevant academic achievements about the history of American Wolf relations in domestic and foreign academic circles,and the academic value and practical significance of the topic selection of this paper.The first part discusses the historical background and reasons of Wolf hunting in Wyoming.In the second part,the historical process of Wolf hunting movement and measures taken by cattle owners,local governments and federal governments are systematically studied in time period,and the evolution of this little-known relationship between man,cow and Wolf is reappeared.The third part discusses the consequences and influences of Wolf hunting in Wyoming.The fourth part discusses the ideological causes and inspirations of the Wolf Borzoi Movement in Wyoming.The conclusion part discusses the deep problems reflected by the man-wolf relationship in American history.
