Klimt’s masterpiece,at the end of the nineteenth century, incorporates Chinese and Western art as an expression of the visual school of Vienna;he is representative of both forms and material of the School of Formalism.Whether it’s his painting materials and techniques, decorative designs,or personal spirit of life, they all represent the artist’s singular personality and accomplishments during his lifetime.Furthermore,it had a profound influence on later Chinese and western illustration art.Illustration has evolved from its simplistic formal characteristics in the past to the emergence of diverse, narrative, and life-oriented illustration art in the modern era.Additionally,it develops its expressive language and visual sense.Simultaneously,Chinese illustration’s creative expression style portrays a rich and vibrant formal language to the context of China’s and Western societies’ "mutual unification and mutual learning." Klimt’s visual language influenced the production of modern Chinese illustration in several ways. Thus,in conjunction with the performance practice and absorption style of personal illustration, this essay seeks to elucidate the origins of its power and illumination. This article examines the effect of Klimt art on contemporary Chinese illustration decoration in five parts. The introduction is the first section. The second section analyzes Klimt art’s extensive richness through the blending and self-reconstruction of schools;the narrative of romantic truth delves into Klimt art’s life meaning;and the exploration of female image and spirit delves into Klimt art’s aesthetic life. The third section discusses Klimt’s impact on Chinese illustration decoration and analyzes the works of outstanding illustrators in China over the last five years. The study is focused on the abstract generalization of graphic symbols, the rich contrast of colors, and the representation of texture. The fourth section contains the paper’s key conclusion: Klimt’s influence on Chinese illustration can be summarized in five ways: the richness of formal language, the romance of subject matter, the variety of methods, the development of poetic appeal, and the pursuit of happiness. The fifth section contains the author’s illustration design, practice method, and outcome presentation based on his prior research and description of his own understanding and development.Additionally,in conjunction with the production prospects for Chinese illustration, this paper summarizes Klimt’s artistic style. And by infiltrating the worlds of numerous illustrators’ works, they articulate the loving, joyful, and beautiful nature of artistic life.
