English writing has always been an important part in junior high school English teaching.However there isn’t enough feedback in English writing.What’s more,writing feedback is one-way,given by teachers and accepted by students.In order to make the feedback more effective and bidirectional,interaction between the teacher and students is necessary.The conference based on“multiple draft process”will ensure the effective oral communication between teachers and students in which the problems of students’ writing are discussed and negotiated for further revisions.Text analysis,record transfer,and interview are used to collect data,while SPSS is used to analyse the data.This thesis aims to answer the following questions: 1)What kinds of influence will the conference based on“multiple draft process”in junior 2 English writing have on the students ’ English writing proficiency? 2)How will the conference influence students’ attitudes and interests to English writing?The conference is based on“multiple draft process”put forward by Keh.According to the students’ first draft,the students with the same writing problem are grouped together and scaffolding is provided in terms of content,structure and language via conference and finally written feedback is given as a support.Through the research,it is found that firstly the conference between teachers and students based on multiple draft process can greatly improve students’ English writing level of junior high school students in terms of writing content,structure and language.Secondly,students prefer the conference with teacher to only written feedback.Students’ writing attitude and interest have also changed positively.The researcher also finds that the conference based on multiple draft process can help students to express their writing confusion directly,and help students cultivate readers’ consciousness.What’s more,it can guide students to pay attention to English writing from lower order concern to higher order concern.Moreover,the conference based on multiple draft process can help teachers give substantive comments,directly find out students’ problems,and make the feedback more effective.
