With the development of economy and the increase of foreign exchange activities,China has become the world’s second largest economy and its international status has continued to rise.Every year,during NPC and CPPCC,the Premier’s press conference has gradually become an important platform for China to express its attitude and views.Consecutive interpreting has also become an important way to communicate with other countries,which plays a vital role.Explicitation has gradually become significant interpreting strategies to ensure interpreting quality,which has attracted the attention of many scholars.However,the research on Explicitation strategy at home and abroad mainly focuses on translation,Interpreting is relatively rare.Therefore,it is particularly important to study the application of Explicitation strategies in interpreting.The research object of this article is the Chinese-English video data of Premier’s Press Conference during 2018-2020.Under the guidance of the related theory of Explicitation,according to Klaudy’s and Zhang Qifan’s classification research on Explicitation,to research on Explicitation.By analyzing the differences of language factors and cultural backgrounds,this article combines cases from the perspectives of structural expression,logical expression,context and cultural information.It analyzes and discusses how interpreters adopt Explicitation strategies to improve the quality of interpretation in specific practice,and provide some suggestions for interpreting practice.This research can provide a certain method reference for interpreters on how to apply Explicitation strategies in Chinese-English consecutive interpreting and help interpreters make better use of Explicitation strategies.
