Music plays an important role in people’s life,work and study.The influence of background music on human cognitive activities has been paid more and more attention by many scholars.Some studies show that background music can relieve mood and improve concentration;some studies show that background music will occupy certain cognitive resources and disrupt learning and memory.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the influence of background music on the working memory of the brain.In this thesis,the EEG experiment for memorizing English words under three music conditions(non-music,classical music and rock music)was designed,standardized low resolution brain electromagnetic tomography algorithm(s LORETA)was applied to reconstruct the sources,and the cerebral cortex source signal distribution was obtained.Statistical nonparametric mapping method(Sn PM)was used to make pairwise comparison analysis of source localization results under three conditions.The results show that ERP sources under different music types are mainly distributed in frontal lobes and temporal lobes.The P300 source localizations under non-music condition are mainly distributed in frontal lobe and left temporal lobes,and the localizations under classical music and rock music are mainly distributed in frontal lobe and right temporal lobe.Statistical analyses of the reconstruction results show that there are significant differences between the ERP source current densities under different music types(P<0.05).The differences between non-music condition and classical music condition are mainly concentrated in temporal lobe.The differences between non-music condition and rock music condition are mainly concentrated in temporal lobe and frontal lobe.The differences between classical music condition and rock music condition are mainly concentrated in frontal lobe and occipital lobe.The analyses of behavioral data show that the accuracy of memorizing the words is the highest under nonmusic condition.Furthermore,the brain function networks were built with the cerebral cortex source signal and the network properties were analyzed.The results show that the connection between temporal lobe and parietal lobe is significantly higher in the background music conditions than that without music background.The nodal degree,betweenness centrality,clustering coefficient and global efficiency under the condition without music are all smaller than the parameters under the background music.Combined with behavioral data analysis,it can be seen that background music may stimulate the brain and activates part of the brain,and may waste the resources of the brain for the current cognitive processing and reduce the efficiency.
