attention to children’s art enlightenment education.Children’s picture books have a huge market for development.In the survey,I found that children’s picture books with the image of strange animals as the theme are relatively rare and lack relevant theoretical support.Therefore,it is very important to incorporate the fantasy and strange pictures of strange animals in the design of children’s picture books in The Book of Mountains and Seas..The purpose of this research is to take the images of alien animals in the "Shan Hai Jing" as the theme and use children’s picture books as the carrier to design a set of illustrations of images of alien animals in the mountain and sea classics that conform to children’s aesthetic characteristics and psychological cognition.This will not only enrich the themes and content of children’s picture books,but also allow children to understand the modeling characteristics of traditional Chinese images of alien animals and inherit the cultural connotations of Chinese history.The research method of this article adopts the historical literature method and comparative research method,etc.,to analyze,compare,organize and summarize the Shanhaijing picture books and modern children’s picture books in different periods at home and abroad,and extract the images of alien animals suitable for children to redesign.In the process of drawing,the "sprouting" design technique is used to make the weird animal image more in line with children’s aesthetic needs and psychological cognitive characteristics.The audience of the picture book created this time is 2-7 years old.The re-creation of the image of the alien animal should be concise,so that the original more complex image of the alien animal becomes more suitable for the preliminary preparations for the next step of specific and in-depth research.The second part is the exploration of the "Shan Hai Jing" and the analysis of the appearance of the strange animals.In the research on children’s picture books.In this chapter,the basic concepts of children’s picture books and various characteristics of children’s picture books are explained.It also summarizes and sorts out the principles to be followed when designing children’s picture books,including: meeting the aesthetic needs of children and the psychological cognitive characteristics of children at this age,so that children’s interest in reading can be fully mobilized and immersed in the picture books.Reading.In the later design practice,these two principles should also be incorporated into the author’s own picture book design,so that children can better read and experience picture books and have a deeper understanding of traditional alien culture.The fourth part is the focus of this thesis,which is the
