| Cyberbullying has become a pervasive social issue in the world and has a series of negative effects on the physical and mental health of teenagers.The General Strain theory holds that stressful events in life will cause people to have negative emotions such as anxiety and depression,and individuals may take some deviant behaviors in order to relieve emotional stress.Under the background of exam-oriented education in our country,study pressure has become the main source of pressure in teenagers’ life,cyberspace to teenagers offer a chance to meet the emotional expression and the field,can make up for their learning frustration and anxiety,The characteristics of adolescence also make it easy for them to tempted to engage in cyberbullying.Therefore,from the perspective of general strain theory,this study explores the current situation and relationship of teenagers’ failure in important exams,depression and anxiety,and cyberbullying.This paper proposes a hypothesis that failure in important exams has a positive and significant effect on cyberbullying and that anxiety and depression play a important mediating role in the relationship between failure in important exams and cyberbullying.This study use the cross-sectional design method and take junior high school students in Shanghai as the research object.Through the life education follow-up questionnaire(final test),SPSS26.0 was used for statistical analysis.Taking gender,single child or not,and family economic status as control variables,the results of the study verified the logical hypothesis of stress-negative emotion-deviant behavior in general stress theory.The results of this study are as follows: the subjective stress level of teenagers in important exam failure is at a medium level,while the depression and anxiety and cyberbullying behavior are at a low level.There are gender differences in depression-anxiety emotion and cyberbullying.Family economic status is negatively correlated with depression and anxiety.There are a correlation between failure in important exams and depression-anxiety emotion,depression-anxiety and cyberbullying.Failure in important exams has no significant predictive effect on teenagers ’ cyberbullying behavior;Depression and anxiety emotion plays a complete mediator role between major exam failure and cyberbullying.Therefore,the paper puts forward specific suggestions on how school social workers can help reduce teenagers’ learning pressure and actively pay attention to and guide teenagers to effectively remove negative emotions. |
