English writing is one of the effective ways for students to textualize their ideas,which fully reflects the students’ comprehensive ability to use English language.However,due to the pressure of the college entrance examination,most English teachers in China focus on the results of students’ writing,but ignore how to guide students to input and effectively output related languages.Secondly,the evaluation methods of English writing teaching are relatively simple.It is mainly the teacher’s review,which does not play the role of students’ introspection and peer mutual assistance,which affects and restricts the improvement of students’ composition level,presenting a clear “separation of learning and use”.In response to this phenomenon,Wen Qiufang,a foreign language education expert in my country,and her team has constructed a foreign language classroom teaching theory based on the teaching concept of “integration of learning and application”,namely Production-oriented Approach(Hereinafter referred to as POA).This study is guided by the three core links of POA,namely “motivating”,“enabling”and “assessing”.The teaching activities guided by POA are designed and applied to teaching.This research mainly discusses the following two research questions: What are the effects of POA on improving students’ English writing ability in senior high school? What are the students’ changes of attitudes towards English writing after application of POA in senior high school?This study conducted a 12-week teaching experiment.The subjects of the study were students in class 1 and class 2 of a high school in Shenyang,Liaoning Province,with a total of 86 students.Class 1 is an experimental class(Hereinafter referred to as EC)and class 2 is a control class(Hereinafter referred to as CC).The EC adopts POA.The teaching process is mainly divided into three aspects: motivating,enabling and assessing.CC uses the traditional teaching methods.The research instruments of this study are mainly test,questionnaire and interview,and SPSS 21.0 is used to compare and analyze the data before and after the experiment.The research findings show that applying POA to high school English writing can effectively improve students’ English writing ability and can develop students’ attitudes towards English writing.
