Many teachers and scholars believe that listening,speaking,reading and writing are four important components of English learning,especially in senior high school English teaching.The four skills are interrelated and mutually promote each other,and none of them are indispensable.Foreign scholars Wolf,S.A.& Gearhart,M.carried out earlier research on Integrated Reading-and-writing Model to enhance students’ writing ability.However,the domestic research on Integrated Reading-and-writing Model mainly focuses on Chinese subject at primary school now,and there are few researches on English subjects.Although teachers and students have put great energy in writing,the effect is not satisfactory.Teachers know the relationship between reading and writing,but it is difficult to find a suitable way to combine the two skills.Therefore,based on the existing problems,the author conducts research on how to integrate reading and writing in senior high school English writing classrooms,so as to improve students’ writing skills.The author mainly addresses the following three questions: What is the current situation of writing teaching in No.2 Experimental Middle School Affiliated to Qinghai Normal University? Compared with the other writing methods,can Integrated Reading-and-writing Model improve students’ writing scores efficiently?In what aspects can the Integrated Reading-and-writing Model improve students’ writing abilities?This research takes 100 students from No.2 Experimental Middle School Affiliated to Qinghai Normal University as the research objects.50 students are in the experimental class,who use Integrated Reading-and-writing Model to complete writing,and the other 50 students are in the control class,who still use the previous writing method.The experimental data of this thesis comes from pre-questionnaire and post-questionnaire,pre-test and post-test and teacher interviews.SPSS is used to analyze the data.The data consequences show that Integrated Reading-and-writing Model increases students’ interest in writing;students can use logical thinking to organize composition and so on.In addition,students’ writing scores have also improved significantly.However,this research still has problems such as limited research period,insufficient number of research objects,and insufficient research level of the author.The author hopes that the research of future scholars can be more comprehensive and deeper.
