| Place names are names given to geographical entities by humans,hidden historical relics,reflecting the characteristics of the times,and are proper nouns frequently used by people in social life.Oral dictation is one of the basic ways people use place names.However,due to the long development of Chinese language and complex phonetic changes,coupled with the large number of dialects in my country,there are a large number of different pronunciations in place names.The confusion of pronunciation has created obstacles to people’s daily communication and behavior.The issue of pronunciation norms for place names is being challenged.Scientific verification of the pronunciation of place names is an important measure to solve this problem,and it is an urgent need to promote the construction of a harmonious language environment.This article takes the place-name characters collected in the "The Great Dictionary of Place Names of the People’s Republic of China" as the research object,summarizes 105 place-name characters that have different pronunciations in the dictionary,analyzes and concludes that the main reasons for the formation of different pronunciations are the legacy of ancient pronunciation(including named by surname and influenced by dialects),ethnic minority phonetic translations,misreading,and according to actual conditions and social needs,the phonetic examination of place names includes normativeness,conventions,and distinctions.Series recommendations.The full text is divided into five parts: First,it is the introduction,which is elaborated from five aspects: concept definition,topic selection reason and research significance,research summary,research object and method,corpus and data acquisition source;second,the "Chinese People The words of place names with different pronunciations in the Dictionary of the Republic of Geographical Names are discussed in three categories;third,to explore the causes of the phenomenon of different pronunciations;fourth,to give reasonable suggestions for the pronunciation verification of place names;and finally to summarize. |
