The rituals related to bats in Bon religion have been lost, and only the ritual texts remain. In combing through the Bon folk literature, the author found a total of 15 documents of the “Bat Sutra”(Pa wang gyi mdo). This article intends to study the three representative texts with relatively complete content and low error rate.Through translation, annotation and comparative analysis of the text content, the author found that although these texts have different descriptions of the superpowers and efficacy of bats, all bats almost appear as messengers of humans and gods.Influenced by religion and secular culture, bats play a dual role in Tibetan literature, art, and epics. The similarity of bat images in Tibetan and its surrounding cultures is undoubtedly a concrete example of the cultural exchanges of various ethnic groups in the historical period, reflecting the diversity and tolerance of Tibetan culture. This thesis is divided into four chapters, and the contents of each chapter are as follows: Chapter One outlines the published versions of Bon folk literature and the preservation status of the scriptures. The second chapter selects and translates three more standardized and representative documents from the fifteen “Bat Sutra”.Chapter Three makes a comparative study on the three selected translations of the “Bat Sutra”literature. The fourth chapter starts with the title of bats in folk culture, folk literature, folk art,and national medicine, then discusses the dual image characteristics of bats in folk culture.
