"Records of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty" is a historical book that Qian Ruoshui and others began to compile in November of the third year of Zhidao(997AD)under the order of Zhenzong,recording the 22 years of Taizong’s reign.There are80 volumes in the book,and there are only 20 volumes left.Each volume is recorded according to time.Its content involves the words and deeds of the monarch,official appointments,local people’s sentiments,edicts,etc.Although the records are centered on Taizong,it can still be seen that the historical content involves It is so wide that it provides a lot of historical data for the study of the early Northern Song Dynasty.At present,there are not many books that specifically analyze the content of "The Records of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty".In order to understand the value of this book in depth,I made this article for further discussion.The content of this article is divided into four parts:The first part is the compilation and spread of "Records of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty".The compilation of this book is related to the system of compiling memoirs for the first emperor in the Song Dynasty.Zhenzong obeyed the system,and after the death of his father,he issued an edict to compile memoirs for him.The editors were appointed and approved by the Shin Buddhism,and it took nine months to complete the compilation.After the book was written,the transcript was kept in the History Museum.Although the Song Dynasty had a system that prohibited copying the transcript,the emperor,crown prince,concubines,and some officials could still read the transcript,so it had a certain influence on the outflow of the transcript.There is a description of this book,so its circulation can be seen.After being copied in the circulation,various versions were produced.The second part is the content analysis of "Records of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty".By categorizing the historical facts recorded in the book according to different contents,it is divided into five parts: official appointment,memorial,supplementary biography,edict,and monarch’s words and deeds.The record form and content of the record are sorted out and their value is summarized.To better understand the reflections of "Records of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty" on all aspects of society in the early Song Dynasty.The third part is the historical origin and direction of "The Record of Emperor Taizong of Song Dynasty".Based on the contents of the Records of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty,the source of the historical materials of the book was analyzed,and the official history book "Song History" was compiled by private authors.Comparing books such as Zhaoling Ji,we found the use and inheritance of historical materials of the "Records of Song Taizong" by later revisions.The fourth part,"Records of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty" is fair discussion.Based on the combing of historical materials of "The Records of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty" and comparison with many books,it explores the documentary value of this book and summarizes the problems existing in the book.The documentary value of this book is embodied in the research and revision of historical facts,the complement of records and the spirit of verbiage.The shortcomings are that there are missing characters and missed characters in the written records,and there are erratic pens and errors in the historical records.
