| Blockchain has vast prospect in business and plays a role in other industries.This translation project takes the book,Blockchain for Business,as the source text.The aim of this book is to provide a set of steps to establish blockchain solutions for business,combining the traits of blockchain.The author’s translation ability can be improved during the process of translation and case study.Since the content of this book is useful and practice,the author has learned about blockchain techniques,business and management.The source text of the translation project is a practical text,so the readability should be especially emphasized during translation.The task of the translator is to translate the technical terms concerning blockchain into the target language successfully and fully mobilize the translator’s subjectivity to convert the complex sentences and passive sentences in the original text into smooth and readable sentences in the target language.Due to the large number of words in this project and the repeated occurrence of professional terms,it is appropriate to use computer-aided translation software to manage the term base and translation memory,so as to achieve the consistency of term translation.Thus,the author used Memoq,a computer-aided translation software in the project.Memoq also provides a term management module so that translators can keep consistency in term translation.In addition,it provides automatic quality assurance to check possible errors in translation.This translation report draws the following conclusions.First,the flexible use of translation strategies and methods improves the translation of Blockchain for Business.The author believes that translator can adopt many ways of translation even they accept the commission from the client,by exertion of the translator’s subjectivity.The translator analyzed the examples at lexical level and syntactic level from her own experience and what she has learned.In conclusion,the author adopted different strategies and methods only to produce faithful,readable and accurate translation.In Chapter Four of the report,many examples have been listed to prove that this way of translation is feasible.Second,within the context of business blockchain,Memoq is of great help in this project.It shows that the CAT tool performs well in translating technical texts and significantly boosts the translation productivity.Consequently,this report offers some help for translation practice on business blockchain through describing the detailed operations for Memoq and introduce the translation strategies by case analysis. |
