Analysis Of Violetta’s Character Inage In Verdi’s Opera "La Traviata"

Giuseppe.Verdi’s opera “La Traviata” is based on the famous writer Alexandre Dumas fils’ s novel “La Traviata”.The theme of “La Traviata ”is bold and novel.It tells the tragic experience of Violetta,who is trapped in the quagmire,and condemns the hypocrisy of the bourgeoisie and the unfairness of society.It was created by Verdi out of sympathy for the people at the bottom and the imprint of the times.The Aria“Farewell to the past dream” is an excerpt from the third act of the opera “ La Traviata”.This paper is divided into three aspects,first of all,the author of the opera “La Traviata”;and its creative background;Finally,the song “Farewell to the past dream”;as an example,combined with the music structure of the song and music performance analysis,as well as their own singing experience.Through these analyses,I realized the character of Violetta in the aria “Farewell to the past Dream”;and the emotion she wanted to express.After understanding the meaning and content of the lyrics,I will study the image of the heroine in this work to better grasp the performance of different emotions in the opera,let me gain a lot in singing and writing,but also for others to learn from and harvest.
