Marimba is a popular and popular melody percussion instrument in the world,with a history of nearly a hundred years of development.Although Marimba has not been introduced to my country for a long time,it has quickly gained popularity due to its wide vocal range,beautiful timbre,and rich expressiveness.With the rapid development of percussion art,ensemble has become an emerging form of percussion performance.However,there is a certain gap in the domestic research on marimba percussion instrument,and the research on marimba ensemble is relatively scarce.At present,domestic research materials on marimba are relatively scarce,and the main documents are mainly solo works,but the research on ensemble works is not very complete and systematic.In recent years,the works of marimba ensemble at home and abroad have improved to a certain extent,but only one document with ensemble works as the research object can be searched on CNKI.The author believes that there is still a lot of research space for the duet works.This article hopes that through the analysis of the Marimba duet "Catching Shadows" and the author’s three-year rehearsal and performance experience of the ensemble,the main points of the performance of this piece are summarized,and the problems arising from the duo cooperation will be summarized to help the performance.The readers are better at completing the ensemble works.
